Decent tricks
My son loves to do magic tricks. He has been working through this book. Some of these are too hard for a 12 year old. Bit overall, good magic tricks.

Useless for beginners
This book is totally useless to the beginning magician. While Banfield does a good job of describing how a trick is done, he does not teach how to do any of the techniques needed to perform the trick. There is a glossary defining the meaning of 22 techniques used to perform the tricks, but no explanation of how to actually do the techniques themselves. Without knowing how to do the techniques you cannot do the tricks. Ergo, the book is useless unless you already know how to do the teniques. He should write a book explaining how to do the techniques.

I bought this book when I first started to learn magic, and I've used it as a refrence ever since! The style is perfect for anybody just starting out because its easy to follow and isn't throwing info at you like some other books. Jake shows you exactly how each trick is performed from both magician and audience perspective which is really handy when learning the illusion to see how its suppose to look from different angles.
