Good Quality Paints/Mediums By Liquitex.
This bottle is bigger than I expected! I never use these all up. I have opened bottles from over a decade ago in my closet. But regardless, I already know that this is a quality product. Liquitex is reliable in terms of their quality of materials. Their acrylic paints are somewhat basic in comparison to more expensive brands, but even those are of good quality. The acrylics are really good for beginners in particular. The colors are all very bright and clear, and the consistency is good. It's easier to work with than oils I'm guessing. It dries much faster, and still provides very vivid and bold colors. It doesn't stink like oil paints do, and I look forward to using this glazing medium in the near future. On glass! I don't have a single complaint. I've relied on Liquitex for years, and it always does what it's supposed to do. I just kinda regret getting such a large bottle. Unless it was a much better deal to do so, or if it was the only option. 473 mL...... If I worked on a brand new, large canvas every day, this would still last me for a while. Those bottles from a long time ago? I bet you they would still work ok. I don't really prefer to test that out, unless I have to. But that's how well they usually keep. They don't dry up and go bad in a couple years. So this is still a good investment.

Great product for artists
The Liquitex Professional Fluid Medium is a high-quality, versatile medium that enhances color vibrancy, transparency, and flow without compromising paint integrity. Its smooth consistency and strong adhesive properties make it excellent for glazing, extending paint, and achieving a glossy finish.

When they say ultra matte, they mean ultra matte!
I bought this to get a matte finish with my acrylic paints, as I do a lot of illustration work and matte surfaces are easier to photograph and scan. I work semi-regularly with gouache and I like the flat, velvety finish. The finish of this medium is similar, though using it with satin or glossy acrylic paints doesn’t create the same smooth, level surface that you’d get from using either traditional or acrylic gouache. It thins the paints a bit, so that thick, velvety consistency isn’t there. But the surface sheen is comparable. This ultra matte medium mixes with both heavy body and soft body/fluid acrylics very well, and I imagine it would also work with acrylic inks. It extends the drying time a little, works with water and a little goes a long way! I found that I needed very little of this medium to get a matte finish with most of my acrylics. Increasing the amount of medium reduces the pigmentation and coverage of the mix, which is fine if you’re glazing with it or using watercolor painting techniques, but it can also make the paint a bit more streaky, especially if you’re using soft body/fluid acrylics. With heavy body acrylics, the paint consistency, pigment load and color are also a factor. So, finding the right balance for what you’re doing at the time, as well as the consistency and pigment load of the acrylic paint you’re working with, is essential. Since I build up my colors slowly with a lot of layers most of the time, this medium suits a lot of my acrylic work nicely. Oh, I also have tried using a fine layer of this medium on finished work to create a matte surface. While it definitely works, it adds the slightest cloudiness to the paint surface that’s is visible on some colors. It’s probably best to go with a matte varnish if that is needed, but in a pinch for work that will be scanned/photographed and processed digitally (illustration, hand-painted motifs for design, etc), it’s not much of an issue. How does this compare to Liquitex’s Matte Medium? I also have the regular matte medium and, in comparison, this one is definitively more matte. It creates a flat finish very similar to gouache, even with acrylics that are pretty glossy to start with, while the regular matte medium leaves more of a satin finish with glossier paints and really only gets to a truly matte finish when mixing it with more satin-looking paints. When they say “ultra matte”, they really do mean ultra matte!

A great medium for custom textures
I use this for a variety of projects sealing surfaces, thinning acrylic paints, or create texture. I am not a painter and I don’t use it for creating artwork. I use it for scale models and model railroads. I use it many times to thin artist acrylics to create a wet or “fluid” surface textures. I prefer this instead of thinning with IPA etc because I get more working time, does not affect underlying paint job and it does hold the “shape” because of higher surface tension. If I thin it a lot it does lighten the color a bit which in my case is many times what I want. It does dry very matte which is great when I use it as a sealer but for the water effects I apply some gloss varnish on top of the wet areas.

Saves paint!
Was so tired of my acrylic paint drying up. This stuff really helps if you’re spending all day with paint out.

As it’s label says, this is a very reliable matte surfacing medium. Used normally in fairly small amounts it completely pushes the gloss down into a dead flat. If increased in amount it will create a more transparent colour. But if you over use this medium expect to see so your paint appear a bit lighter in value. That whitish look is just a product of how matte medium works. And that’s normal. Thing is, most matte mediums don’t produce that whitish effect because they usually don’t contain enough of that material to really work reliably. This one does! I’ve tried so many as a studio art teacher. Use it in appropriate amounts and you’ll get a perfect result and you'll find the bottle will last a pretty long time. I love this ultra matte medium.
