This product has that great coconut smell. Not artificial or overpowering in anyway. Shampoo & conditioner lather well when using & definitely do the job. Leaves dry hair hydrated & you can definitely see & feel the difference for split ends. As this is a hydrate product, the smoothness will not last too long, (see their argan repair to smooth for that), it's purpose is to add back hydration & to seal in the moisture where other products do not.Previously used Herbal essences argan oil repair from the same bio:renew range. As you can see from the photos I have used all my travel minis (100ml), original size (350ml shampoo & 250ml conditioner), & xxl 680ml shampoo & 465ml conditioner). So I thought id try the coconut for a change & happy to say I've not been disappointed. I love these products because they are mostly natural products, readily available, & contain the least nasties for hair & skin I've seen of any company or product ive tried. My favourite product in that range was their bio renew repair mask argan oil of morocco, it smelt amazing, felt so smooth, & it truly worked as my split ends would appear gone for up to either the 2/3 days without continued weekly use, or every day with continued use of shampoo & conditioner & weekly use of the mask. It was my favourite, until they changed the ingredients & I can no longer use this. I hope they change it back someday. In the mean time my new favourite is this hydrate 🥥 range.Practicalities to consider:If you prefer to use more product when you wash like me, the xl is a good option.Xl bottle is taller naturally than the original so less bending needed for those who struggle to reach/have disabilities. On the flip side these xl bottles are heavier, so consider this or decant into the original bottles if you have one of those shower caddy things that fall down from weight.How understanding of hair care & what products out there are available to you can improve your hair health significantly :For people with dry hair/split ends the hair shaft is broken open letting out the moisture, which is why it continues to look dry no matter how much you wash or condition it with other products full of chemicals. Some products wack on labels to attract customers with \"dry hair\" etc but contain ingredients/chemicals within that make the problem worse. * This is not the case with this product * It's mostly all natural so it won't make it worse & as far as I can see contains no harsh chemicals etc.This & the argan version are the best most natural options out there that I have found over 30yrs. That said, products alone can only do so much, & in order to get what you want to achieve for your hair health/to achieve best results with this product, here are some tips I got from my hairdresser & like me many of you may wish you had known about these tips sooner -• satin pillows /satin bonnets & ties - to stop breakage as we turn in the night which does the most damage for dry hair besides styling.• If you have split ends consider procuring the necessary items & then get a haircut with as much splitends as possible cut off, as every time you brush your hair, the split can travel, ie split further up. Continue to protect your hair whilst sleeping, styling, & washing.• Natural products are best, but styling sprays are hard to come by in natural forms so consider what works best for you/is least harsh on your hair & scalp but still works as you need it to - ie avoiding any allergens you may have that may irritate the scalp - protect to the heat being styled at 200/230 etc. Consider do you use a spray when using the hairdryer? Doesn't need to be 230 as hairdryers usually aren't that hot, so consider getting an everyday heatspray. The cheapest 1 I know out there is a brown & green top 'argan oil heat defence' spray which is as the label suggests natural with a few chemicals to protect at low heat only, so this is not suitable for straighteners etc, only for low heat like a hairdryer.• Consider what you put your hair through besides styling, like holidaying a lot can frizz your hair from the humidity/heat. If you don't already consider packing mini styling tools & satin/silk sleep routine. You can pick up these herbal essences in mini travel sizes too, I've seen them in most stores/supermarkets, including boots.• lastly for females, (as a female myself I'm not sure if this applies to men or not), did you know that our hair is one of the last parts of our body to receive nutrients? I learnt through my own physical health journey that our hormones/hormones taken are responsible for functions like digestion & absorption of nutrients, & therefore can affect our overall health, & that our bodies prioritise the bodys needs first over hair - ie if you have x amount of minerals/vitamin a b c d e & your liver needs to run a process but cant without the full x amount, the liver would get the vitamin & your hair/scalp wouldn't. This is why it's a tell tale sign of a lack in a nutirent if your hair/scalp is unhealthy despite taking good care of it. Consider testing for deficiencies/discussion with your health professional if still having trouble.Now you have the hair knowledge on how to keep it & your scalp in top condition, all that's left is to pick the products that seem they are the best to you. After using many many of the herbal essences & falling in love with their bio renew range, I can say that these products are the top tier. They do what they say they will do, natural (bar the essential chemicals needed), & smell amazing. If you haven't bought the xxl version already, these are by far the best value for money.
