I love my little buddy so much. I bought my first Schylling Sock Monkey in October of 2005. He was purchased for my daughter and has traveled with us so many far places among them Blizz-Con's, ComiCons, theme parks, Zoo's, many restaurants, out of state trips through harsh deserts, and moist forests. He has survived many years of brutal weather and treatment and has had a few repairs along the way.He never complained and was always a good friend. In 2010 I was hospitalized and paralyzed on full life support. My daughters who both had a Schylling Sock Monkey they loved put them in the hospital bed with me where they remained for the duration of 18 months. They were moved around, shuffled along, tossed aside by Nurses but somehow always found their way back to my side. Always loyal always a good companion and friend.The quality stitching and cuteness that make up their materials can only last so long so expect a few battle scars and repairs which only add to your buddy's personality. As a child, I used to see sock monkeys on craft shows (Carol DuVall comes to mind) and pine after them, but I never had the opportunity to make or own one. In December of 2010, for one of my milestone birthdays as an adult, I decided I'd get myself the sock monkey I've always wanted. This seemed to be the best-looking one I could find already made, which was the best option for me given my limited time and the price of buying the supplies to make my own.Note that while I do on occasion hug this sock monkey (he's VERY huggable!), I treat this little guy as something of a collectible -- as I do all of my plushies. He sits on my bed, but is never roughly treated or tossed around or anything of that sort. As such, I can't attest to durability when compared to how a child might play with a stuffed animal, but I can say that three years later mine still looks as good as new.He's adorable, looks as if he's made with actual socks, and very soft to the touch. Overall, I'm happy with my sock monkey and glad I made the purchase. This is a quality and affordable product.

I bought it for me but felt guilty because I ordered more for me that I sacrificed this one for my neighbor boy. This is a well made product and so adorable.

Granddaughter loves it

i love sock monkeys. they're so iconic and timeless. it's no wonder it's been around since the thirties. although i would love to attempt to make a sock monkey of my own, this is the next best thing. it's super soft and it's as cute as a button. plus, it's inexpensive and the shipping is incredibly fast.FYI: if you do want to create one, hobby lobby sells the red-heeled socks and a how-to book on the subject (but the socks alone cost thirteen dollars). also, they sell a small monkey kit that would be an easy project for kids 8 and older to put together.

This is gift for grandchild

When my children were young, I made them and their cousins sock monkeys for Christmas one year - 10 in all. This past summer, my youngest grandson asked me to make him a sock monkey. I searched high and low for socks and, even though stores advertised on line as carrying the product, the local stores did not stock them. My sister-in-law from AK sent me a pair of socks and I completed the monkey (much more work than I remembered!!) I knew the other kids would like a monkey as soon as they saw one so I continued my search. I found the socks online, however, the price plus shipping was ridiculous. But!! in my search for the socks, I found these monkeys advertised at Amazon. In desperation, I ordered them knowing that if they were poorly made, I would just return them. I was DELIGHTED with the quality of work, their size, and sturdiness. I wish they had a bit more stuffing in them, but other than that - great product. I gave them to my g'kids for Valentine's day and they loved them. Lots of smiles and excitement all around. They were the first things pulled from the Valentine goody bags I had made and all the monkeys received their first loving hugs. :DDefinitely recommend this product!
