Switched from mealworms to black soldier fly larvea because they have more calcium.

Wow, I did not expect this big of a bag but it certainly explains the price (it’s the same size as my big bag of cat food from target). We have a bearded dragon that seems to prefer dead or dried BSFL (I know he’s weird), and these worked great. I got tired of keeping dead larvae in the fridge so I bought these to see if he would like them (he hated all other dried insects we tried so it was a gamble). And he LOVES them! We soak them in a little water for about an hour before putting in his cage to increase his water intake and he gobbles them right up without issues (he would eat way too many if we let him). Since transitioning him to these over dead ones about 3 months ago, his color and size have drastically improved, so I can certainly tell these are nutritious and great quality. It was difficult to get him to eat most insects prior to these and I’m so so relieved that he eats these and now prefers them to all other food, including fruit. He was becoming malnourished prior and we tried every other popular brand of fresh and dead BSFL with little luck. I know these aren’t advertised for bearded dragons, but they work great for anyone that also has a beardie who is a very picky eater! Just remember to supplement their water intake in some way to prevent dehydration. 🙂

I requested the MEILLEURE 2.5LBS Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae as a food source for our very picky eater Tiger Oscar after doing some researching on the Internet. The larvae are bit large for our juvenile Oscar so we break the pupae into smaller pieces for him. Apparently this food source is a superior source of calcium to mealworms, whic is another food source for Tiger Oscars. I ground some up with a mortar and pestle along with Cichlid pellets and Oscar was very receptive. Now, if we can only get him to eat his veggies! :)

My chickens go CRAZY for these! Plus they help them continue to produce beautiful, fresh eggs. Great price.
