Great Headset!
I have gone through a few headsets. Not because I'm abusive to products, quite the opposite. I have electronics that are more then 20 years old, still have the original boxes and manuals. I tend to keep things I like forever. I had a Corsair wireless "Surround Sound" headset for a bit over a year, but I use headsets very infrequently, maybe once a week or a couple of hours over TeamSpeak. Between these times, they hang on a headphone rack from Turtle Beach, a fine accessory. Imagine my amazement when I picked up the $180 Corsair one evening and it simply fell apart. The plastic by the swivel piece where the cups attach to the headband just broke. This appears to be common in those sets and Corsair could care less. I also picked up a Steel Series Siberian corded headset, the white model and they had a good sound, although they tended to make crackling sounds when you moved your head back and forth and this sound was sent through the mic and earpieces. It was a bit annoying. I lived with this until one day, I took the headset off my Turtle Beach headset stand (a fine accessory) and found that the padded headband had completely separated at one edge, exposing a piece of plastic that popped out and making them impossible to wear. But enough of these horror stories! This is about the Sennheiser GAME ZERO Special Edition Gaming Headset. So far, these have not cracked at the earcup swivel nor has the headband ripped open making them impossible to wear. They are holding together well and they sound really good, both as the wearer and to others (as I have been told). They have large padded earcups allowing them to fit completely around the ears, unless perhaps you are Jim Carrey or Will Smith. If you are not, these will likely fit over yours. The microphone boom is on the left side and flips up very quietly, muting the mic at the same time. There does not seem to be any clicks registered over the air when you do this or pull it back down. It is a very solid boom. On the right earcup, there is a large volume wheel that lets you adjust incoming sound. The cord is on the left side and is a long straight corded with a cloth-like outer mesh that is very strong. It is also flexible and could probably be used to strangle small rodents, although I am not condoning that here. Did I mention that I store these on a Turtle Beach headphone stand (a fine accessory)? So far, this headset has exceeded my expectation and I look forward to many years of use from them. I would not hesitate to recommend these, but only to my friends. To my enemies, I will continue to recommend the Corsairs.

Sennheiser has a winner here
Bought the Game Zero Special Edition as I preferred the all black appearance of it. Compared to my other headset which is the Beyerdynamic Custom Game, I like the Game Zero better. It's more comfortable, has a better microphone and sounds better. The Custom Game has underwhelming mids and highs but great bass where I feel the Game Zeros perform well across all frequencies. The bass isn't overwhelming but you can definitely hear it in explosions and such. I paired it with my Astro Mixamp TR and cannot be happier with it's performance. EDIT 7/14/2018: Switched from the Astro Mixamp TR to the Creative Soundblasterx G5 as I dont care for virtual surround sound and like the cleaner sound the G5 provides. Still love the headset as it performs well for all games

Very happy with this purchase. I have spent the past 15-20 years purchasing cheap gaming headphones in the range to $20-50 on a yearly basis. I have never had a nice stereo system or quality audio ever. I put these on, cranked the music and heard the nuances I didn't hear before. Despite my cheap tastes I've known Sennheiser to be around for a long time (top headphones 15 years ago first time heard of them). These far exceeded my tastes, I opened the box to blast some music and I heard something so crisp. The craftsmanship is incredible, I decided to watch a youtube video with Linus touring Sennheisers german production facility which is great insight into the production and quality QA that all of these sets go through. It's great to see companies holding themselves to such high standards through the test of time. My last headset I had a large struggle balancing my game/music/voip simultaneously. Despite many hours testing and battling with windows mixer I could hardly ever achieve the proper balance with the different sounds. My absolute favorite part of these headphones is that it seems to produce all of these sounds independently and equally with minimal effort on my part. I can hear the faint sound of a rocket car across the field while distinctly feeling the bass line from the song I'm listening to. Thanks!

WARNING DONT BUY SPECIAL EDITION!!
WARNING I purchased the special editions thinking it was the exact same headset with a different color. ITS NOT. The special editions have absolutely no bass with an extremely hollow and tinny sound. I returned them and bought the regular ones at full price and they sound 1000% better. The headset itself is extremely comfortable, built well, and has probably the best mic on any headset I've ever heard. However if you're someone who enjoys rich bass these are deffinetly not the headset for you. However in game they sound great.

Magnificent quality and customizable to any length
Amazing quality of sound once I learned how to better use an equalizer. This is really one of the best headsets, and takes a real sound engineer to get the best out of it. If you're not willing to put in the time to study sound design, master an equalizer, and tailor the sound profile, then just get a generic headset and riii away. This is not for a novice computer user, and most audiophiles already know what to do with something like a Sennheiser.

Beautiful and sleek
Sounds great and probably one of the lightest headsets I've used. Not a huge fan of the mic, but it works well. Volume control on the right side is a nice touch. Good for long gaming sessions.

Awesome headset absolutely destroys all other competition, the boom mic is great, the cans feel nice on the ears and the headband is soft and comfortable. I got the Special Edition and although they dont come with a carrying case or second cord to play on console or just have one output, these things are identical to the regular ones. These are all black and all mean!! mic is awesome when it is pushed up it is muted and is not anyway in your POV. The only headset that i could compare these to is the Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X/ATH-AG1X. 2 of my buddies have those headphone and these are right up there with them.

best headsets, I had before razer kraken 7.1 and steelseries siberia. But these headset is amazing. Sound quality is crisp and clean. Microphone one of the best. Ear cups are big and feels nice. I would recommend this headset to gamer. If you don't need carry case, than this headset is amazing choice. Because in this edition case is not included.

I bought this for my ps4 and PC gaming. The sound quality is amazing and even adds new sounds to the games I've placed before. The only complaint I would have (and this is just me being really picky) that while the mic is great, I'd like a little more freedom when moving it. Moving it up and down works fine. I would just like to bend it to and from my face a little more. But that's it. Overall 5/5

Very very good material and sound quality, amazing microphone, the only kinda annoying thing and that is personnal is that the cable is extremely long, but I’d rather have it long than too short so it’s ok!

I hope to have this frown turned upside down, but my box arrived as a non-sealed Sennheiser box with a shipping label attached. Not even in an Amazon box. No seal on it, no receipt, no paperwork. NO BOX!!! After contacting customer service, they plan on reprimanding whoever sent it (hopefully firing them) and sending me a new pair. I then began function testing this open-box set. I put on some music to start. The bass would 'click' during the beat of my music and the bass was very dull, at best. Not what is expected from sealed Sennheisers. The noise isolation is next to nothing, I could pretty much hear my kid breathing next to me. The volume control wouldn't turn the sound all the way down either and at that point I took them off and complained some more! Edit: I have tried them for an extra day now, and while the headphone ear cups are very large, and comfortable, their huge size is actually a pitfall. They have VERY different sound depending on where your ears sit inside them. When they're slightly tipped forward, with the edge of your ears touching the back of the padding, the bass gets very prominent compared to usual. But then perfectly centered, it fades into the abyss and further to the front edge, nearly non-existent. If the price point makes you happy with that kind of work-around for a closed headphone... I guess you could be happy with these. But not I! Sending back. I already own an Antlion ModMic 4.0 and ordered some Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 ohm. This combo should make me very happy, and cost significantly less than the MMX 300 Gen 2, but with a better mic and the same ear drivers!
