I received the safe and had no issues setting up the pin and programming our fingerprints. When I went to install the bracket on the side of our nightstand, one of the screw heads broke off forcing me to move the bracket a half inch and put more holes into our nightstand. The construction of the safe and bracket seem very heavy duty and top notch. Unfortunately, the screws that it came with are not of the same quality. I drilled 7/64" pilot holes and when I went to cinch them down in the solid wood nightstand frame, the head of one popped off with minimal torque. It's a small thing, but it made the installation that much more difficult and frustrating.That being said, I did but a second safe a few days later. I was extra gentle with the screws and had no issue with installation and setup. Took me about 15 min from open box to installed, setup, and gun ready. I recommend this gun safe.

I've had this product for about 7 months now and I've tried to give it time and a decent opportunity to meet my expectations. However, it has not met the mark. I did not purchase this to be a daily use gun safe, as I wanted it to store my Glock and serve as a quick access tool next to my bed.The concept of this biometric safe is great. I was able to mount it to the side of my nightstand with ease. The thought of being able to quickly access my sidearm in the middle of the night, with ease, seemed like the perfect match for this safe. However, the finger print scanner seems to give little effort into reading your actual print. After having it installed and not having to use it for a while, I decided to make sure it would recognize my print and allow me quick access from my bed. It immediately gave me a failed validation (red beeping) before I fully pressed my thumb on the scanner. After attempting to quickly try a few more times, it locked and delayed any opening (manual says it locks from tampering for 5 minutes). During this time, it also wouldn't accept the pin code I assigned. Luckily, I wasn't in a serious situation at the time, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have been able to defend myself (unless a burglar gave me 5 minutes).It seems like the fingerprint scanner definitely doesn't work as good as the one on your cellphone. You'd probably need to have a perfectly clean hand and line it up exactly as you did when you stored the print.My final thoughts:If you are looking for something that will work in an emergency situation, I would not recommend this product as it just isn't reliable from a quick access standpoint. Just spend a little more money on a product that put a little more money into the quality of the function.
