Your Washing Machine (And Your Clothes) Will Thank You
Best laundry soap ever! Not only is Charlie's effective, it is economical, environmentally friendly, and gentle. Unexpected plus: Despite ongoing efforts to keep my 10-year-old washing machine tub clean, it still smelled of mold. After about 8 loads of laundry using Charlie's, the musty smell has disappeared. Our clothes, bedding, and towels are fresher and cleaner. And no need for fabric softener!

Miracle for sensitive skin, no fading, gets things CLEAN!!!
I've probably used a dozen+ different eco-friendly laundry detergents over this years, and this one is absolutely the best to date. Even beats out the top-end Biokleen was I using before. The highlights:- Fantastic price; my bag lasts forever- Gets absolutely everything clean and odor-free, including the fleece pads I line my guinea pig cages with- The only loads I use hot water on are towels, sheets, and guinea pig bedding, and that's for the disinfecting. Everything else? Cold water. Everything smells fresh. It's fantastic.- Busts stains very well on its own, especially grease- Doesn't fade, thin, or weaken my clothes (see below)- Zero rashes, hives, or sneezing problems despite my absurdly sensitive allergies- No need to add extra washing soda to soften the water; it's built in- Rinses clean, as evidence by nice, soft, not-stiff towels and no white marks unless I goof up (see below)A couple of tips:- If you have a top load, always always always put the detergent in before the clothes, and make sure it hits the water so it can dissolve before clothes land all on it. The only time I've ever had white marks was when I decided to add a little bit more detergent after I'd dumped all my clothes in. However I can see the potential for dissolving problems if you have particularly hard water. You might want to use the Charlie's liquid over this or DIY your own liquid by dissolving the powder in water.- If you're switching from standard detergents, make sure you de-gunk your washing machine, especially if you used a lot of scents and softeners before. You can Google "how to clean washing machine" for easy tutorials. No scrubbing involved. (If you have a front load, don't miss flushing the detergent dispenser with hot vinegar)- Oxygen bleach and borax are absolutely amazing companions to this stuff. Only the nastiest of stains or most set-in of stains ever need pretreatment.- I've never, ever had Charlie's fade the colors on a well-made item washed in cold water. Cheaper clothes, on the other hand... Your Target, Walmart, and even a lot of Kohls shirts aren't the best-made things on the planet. Any item that isn't made to be solidly colorfast, using good dyes and good setting technique with deliberately bad rinsing to make it just look vibrant on the rack, will fade regardless of what detergent you use. If you're worried fading, you can buy dye fixitives and try them on for size. (Skip those vinegar and salt tricks you see on the internet; salts and acids are used in the dyeing process itself but can't do much in the aftermath.)I'd recommend Charlie's to anybody for pretty much every application.

10+ Years and Still the Best Laundry Soap Ever!
We’ve been using Charlie’s Soap for over 10 years, and I honestly can’t imagine switching to anything else. It tackles even the dirtiest loads (farm clothes, kids’ messes—you name it!) and always leaves everything fresh and truly clean without any heavy perfumes or residue. I love that it works equally well with both city and well water—such a rare find. The fact that it’s hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and eco-friendly is just the cherry on top. If you’re looking for a dependable, gentle, and powerful detergent, this is it. One bag lasts forever and is worth every penny!

Great for Sensitive Skin
I've found my forever detergent! I've always had extremely sensitive skin and have struggled to find a detergent that doesn't irritate me AND that actually cleans my clothes. Well, this is it! Charlie's Laundry Powder leaves my clothes very clean and smelling good. There are no fragrances or perfumes, just the fresh scent of cleanliness! When doing laundry, I also use white vinegar in the softener basin for added cleaning power and it works nicely alongside the powder. I appreciate how often times, you don't even need a full scoop of the powder since it really is so concentrated! Because of that fact, this bag lasts quite a while, at least a few months (and I'm always doing laundry.) I highly recommend this to anybody, but particularly to those with sensitive skin and high standards.

Good price for a good product.
Charlie's soap leaves no residue and no overwhelming scent like other brands of laundry soap. Works great and is a bargain.

Clean Laundry Soap
I started using Charlie’s Soap laundry detergent after getting tired of the heavy scents and suds from my old brands, and it’s been a surprisingly refreshing change. What really stands out is how simple the formula is—just pure soap, soda ash, and salt—so there’s none of the funky fillers or fragrances that give me headaches or irritate my skin. My clothes come out clean and soft without that film some detergents leave behind, and it’s gentle enough that my daughter’s eczema hasn’t flared up once since we switched. I love that it’s concentrated, too, so a little goes a long way, and the powder dissolves completely even in cold water without any gritty residue in the washer’s drum.Of course, it’s not perfect. Because it’s fragrance-free, you don’t get that “fresh laundry” smell that some people love, and if you’re used to big, bubbly suds, it can feel like nothing’s happening even though it’s working. I did notice that really greasy stains sometimes need a pre-treatment boost—Charlie’s Soap is great for everyday dirt and sweat, but I still keep a stain stick handy for motor oil and heavy food spills. It’s also a bit pricier per load than supermarket brands, so if you’re on a tight laundry budget, the up-front cost can sting, even though you technically use less with each wash.
