Very good product at a very affordable price. I bought it because I had some tests and was deficient, so I had to take supplements. I felt much better after using them, I will just have to get more tests done to see how efficient the supplements were. The pills are small and easy to swallow. If my doctor will tell me to take more supplements, definitely I will buy them again.

Due to being severely allergic to maize and over 150+ ingredients derived from maize, I can't take any prescription folic acid as all of them contain maize derived ingredients. It took me time to find this. This is, to my knowledge, 100% maize-free. Why do I have to take it? Unfortunately I'm on an immunosuppressant drug once a week and I must take up to 5mg folic acid 6 days a week to protect the liver. This works. Monthly blood tests over the past 2 years proves that taking three capsules 1 mg 6 days a week works as I've been told I need blood tests every 3 months instead of monthly. Very pleased. I think the capsule shell is maize free. No nasty maize derived magnesium stearate in these. Hope this helps others in my shoes!

Great product but has high content of folate. Great for me on the low side however caution for those with normal/sufficient levels; as it could cause more harm than good.

This is a much repeated purchase. As some other reviewers have shared, I am a MTHFR too. What a hilarious acronym, I hope not! And homozygous c677t. This is not supposed to bode well for health. I don’t notice many health issues apart from terrible migraines every few months. It’s implicated in miscarriage, I wish I had known. Not spotted by health professionals in the U.K. nor picked up abroad either despite many genetic tests that all returned clear. Once you know that you have this, keep telling health professionals, we need them to get up to speed on this. Higher demand for information will prompt further research (peer reviewed with high cohort sizes with control groups with placebos) A previous reviewer, Fiorella, has said that the manufacturer advises against use in pregnancy. This may be to cover themselves legally, just in case. It doesn’t necessarily mean something awful will occur because of this. It’s shorthand for getting advice first. Many vitamin bottles will say this on the packaging. It’s best for anyone in pregnancy to seek out a specialist who has knowledge of MTHFR and neural tube defects because this is what insufficiently absorbed folate can cause. I discovered mine through 23andme. At the time it was simply listed as a propensity towards neural tube defects and the MTHFR connection was not clear, until someone posted it on their forum with links to discovering more. I don’t know if I can say that family members have been affected by it. One great aunt had a child with Down Syndrome who was much loved and loved to a good age but nobody else however people don’t always discuss miscarriage and there are three families with only one child, whether by choice or the result of this, I don’t know. Couples seeking out a specialist with knowledge of this are often prescribed a much higher dose than this. Recent research has shown that high doses of folate in the late stages of pregnancy significantly increases the risk of autism BUT, BUT, BUT the folate used was synthetic and not methylated. It all comes back to more research again, doesn’t it! For anyone pregnant or considering it, seek out a specialist first with years of experience in this. Pregnancy is not a time to be taking guesses about doses of vitamins. And little and often is better throughout the day than a large dose of anything to prevent surges that may overwhelm. That goes for vitamin D3 and E too. If you have a reaction, it’s easier to scale back. With regard to convenience it is tiny and easy to swallow. Avoid late at night as it can awaken the senses. Leave a few hours between this and vitamin C and the tannins in tea. My hair is also a little thicker than it was. Not quite that of my 20s but of my 30s, certainly.

Easy to take, I like the ethos of the company and a good price to boot. Winner all around.
