Zippered pockets would make this pretty much perfect.
I bought these for canoe camping. I haven't tried them out in the field yet, but they seem to provide adequate coverage and I'm able to move easily in them. The only thing I really wish they had is zippered pockets (or even better, cargo pockets!), because I can tell that the side pockets aren't deep enough to be secure in a canoe. The back pocket zippers, but it won't be comfortable to sit for hours in a canoe on whatever is stored in the back pocket.

Good quality
I'm happy with my purchase. The fabric is lightweight but sturdy. Great for camping. I wish the pockets were a little bigger though.

These are great shorts! Fit is as expected and they are very comfortable. They are perfect for the beach and lake since they dry really fast! And they are longer than a lot of shorts.
