Bananagrams for Kids

My daughter has happily returned to this puzzle book several times now. I can see it is connecting some dots for her, expanding vocabulary and spelling skills. The puzzles are challenging, with words coming from a variety of language roots, on a single page. Although this is probably normal for a word puzzle book, it really struck me as she worked through a set of "banana pancakes", where the same 3 letters are used with 6 other individual letters to make six unique 4-letter words. Boat, auto, toad, taco, atom, toga. The sounding out rules vary amongst them, and it felt like her neural network was making some new connections to leap the gaps leading to discovery. She finds these really engaging (and she is not a workbook/worksheet loving child), and I think it is excellent.

My daughter, 9, LOVES this book. It' a spelling, vocabulary & crossword puzzle book all in one. Funny questions & just silly enough for a kid. I only wish they would come up a 2nd & 3rd version

Cute puzzles; my son enjoys them. I wish the different levels of puzzles were in order, rather than jumbled. The level 1 puzzles are just right for my 5yr old, the level 2 are a challenge, the level 3 would be frustrating. Not a fan of digging through the book to find suitable puzzles. Also, it would be nice if the blanks in the book were large enough to use with the Bananagrams tiles (& maybe perforated pages for working at a table / desk).

I got my son this along with the bananagrams and it has helped to show him how to create words out of other words and is a great beginning resource for bananagrams and scrabble type games.

My grams gave me this fun book of puzzles after a long trip to her house with nothing but banana grams.My whole family had a blast trying to figure out these fun brainteasers! I love to play scrabble at home, and banana grams (the book) has so many games and puzzles just like scrabble! I recommend this book to all you walking dictionaries and word lovers!

my daughter and i love the banangram game, so i bought this book for her so she could do it on trips. she loves it and does it even outside of the car. i hope they come out with a second volume! She is 10 years old and is a very good critical thinker, so I wouldn't have bought this for my 8 year old. I like the adult book, too!

My whole family loves this game! Great for spelling practice and and playing together. Games are not too long so you can play quick games when you need a distraction; play alone or with a group❤️ Most friends who play want their own game they love it so much!

Das Buch ist sehr lehrreich und macht richtig Spaß. Außerdem ist es nicht zu schwer für Kinder. Auch als Eltern möchte man mitmachen.

うかつにもbananagramsを知りませんでした。スクラブル歴２０年，yahooやfacebookで海外の人ともスクラブルをしてきたのに全くの深く。本書はbananagramsの練習用。基本的にアナグラムとクロスワード。短時間に初歩的な単語のアナグラムの練習用に最適。単語は本国の小学生でしょうが，あなどるなかれ。基本的に 日本の教室や入試で教えられたり出題される単語と生活用語の英語とはずれがあるので，結構苦労するはずです。９個の動物，鳥，植物といった単語を作るのは予想外に苦戦するはずです。 とはいうものの１ページに１題の構成なのでさくさくと問題を解けるはずです。この本でスピードを身につけてbananagramsの挑戦すればかなりの好成績をとることができるでしょう。 気持ちのよいword gameの本です。
