I've worked for many years as an industrial piping designer where drawing dimension were all in inches & fractions of an inch. Having decimal equivalents of fractions memorized it wasn't difficult to use a regular calculator (32 11/16" = 32.6875", etc.). I just started working where drawings have to be dimensioned in feet-inches-fractions of an inch. A whole lot harder doing calcs on a regular calculator. This calculator makes working on feet & inches/fractions a breeze. I'm as fast doing calcs now as I was before, without having to convert anything. I liked it well enough that I bought a 2nd one for my workshop. It works great. Excellent product at a terrific price. Highly recommended.

This is my 2nd purchase of this calculator. I originally paid nearly twice what this one cost several years ago. I use it every day at work in a major home improvement retail store. The functions and execution are easy for me and I didn't want to relearn a device. The flip lid protects it in my apron pocket. I like it but I broke my original one...it was no challenge to a forklift. The 8503 is a great little tool!

batteries may ship dead, took a couple tries of buying and returning before I got one batteries lasted more than a week

Bought 5 for myself and fellow employees! Had the higher level model years ago but this is all we need in order to add measurements on Architecture. PERFECT FOR OUR NEEDS! TOTALLY SATISFIED!

So nice to do the math in fractions! (But have the option to work in decimals.) While I don't use many of the specialized calculations it provides, simply being able to flip to/from fractions when calculating drill bit sizes and dado widths compared to standard fractional sizes is just great.I've had this calculator in my shop for over a year, and it's still working, even covered in saw dust.

Battery went died in the first week. 2nd one in a month. Same problem. Put new battery in the calculator and showed to reset. Hit the reset button and it was done. Same problem both calculators.

This is very handy calculator. I use it for commercial and industrial application when I can't use my phone. Easy to use.
