Kessil H80 Tuna Flora Refugium LED

These are my go-to refugium lights. I own 3 of them, 2 of which I’ve had for a couple years. So far I haven’t seen any of the diodes burn out and I run them 24/7. I’ve consistently had really good growth of both Chaeto as well as other macros and Caulerpa. The adjustability and controllability are great. I also own a Kessil H380 but I prefer running multiple H80’s instead because of the adjustability and I’ve just seen better results with the H80. I almost think the 380 is too bright and you can’t turn it down. Also it has a tendency to grow more hair algae and other nuisance algae in your fuge. Great bang for the buck with the H80, great results, and of course great Kessil quality and a company that stands behind their products.

Have been using it for several months. My refugium plants are growing and doing awesome. If you get this product I highly recommend also getting the controller. The product works great but the doesn't have a timer. And while manually you can set the light color brightness it stays at that setting. The controller allows you to adjust both during the day. Manually, there are 2 knobs to adjust the color and intensity. They are intuitive to use and allow great control when adjusting.

Perfect light for my Refugium

Running it over the 2.6 gallon fluval as a saltwater macro tank. Everything is growing crazy with 100% intensity and set to "grow" on the spectrum dial. Have caulpera, and some xenia that are taking off under this lighting. Just remember to pick up the mount! Seems to work on both rimmed and rimless.

My first one was defective. I used in in my sump for a few weeks and it grew algae like crazy but I didn't see a lot of growth with my cheato. Then it just went completely out. Then I got the replacement I used it over some frags for a month in qt but I bought it for a sump light which is what it's for but it says not to use in humid conditions which doesn't make since because it's a sump light.

I am impressed with the quality of this unit. I’ve never owned anything from kessil, but I will buy from them Again. Extremely bright LED for my fuge...and it’s also growing whatever mushrooms and zoas are in there as well...originally had an aquatic life LED, and once I switched I noticed immediate growth.

Using this as the main light for a refugium it works very well. You have to play with your light a bit around the grow setting to figure out what your cheato or macro likes best. My cheato liked a little more purple but my chlorpa liked a little more of the red. The chlorpa grew like crazy I’ve since went to an all cheato refugium. This is a Great light for small refugiums. I have a 20 gallon long three chamber with the middle stage as the refugium it’s like a 24”x12”x10” that I have set up and this light is perfect.
