It's pretty good overall and has good features such as electrical wire detection. The accuracy is pretty good on this from my testing. You couldn't ask for more for the price.

This little tool works great. Locates wood and metal studs and electrical wiring. No more surprises of hitting a live wire with sawzall.

seems to be better than my previous stud finders. You have press the button, then to wait for the unit to calculate the depth of the sheetrock and then move the unit rather slowly. Often you go past the center of the stud and the arrows reverse direction until you find the center. With some patience, it works fine.

Finally, an affordable stud finder that works well, consistently, and easily. This has worked well every time. Have not used it for tracing electrical.

Will there ever be an easy to use, dependable, accurate stud finder? This one is just ok. The Stud Finder Wall Scanner Detector - 5 in 1 seemed to work great at first, but then we were missing the nail into the stud. Used a Walabot and got different results. I guess I'll use both and pray not to have a wall full of holes. It is made well and easy to read display if that helps.

I have used this detector twice in the last 5 month to install garb bars. I can attest that it performs very well, finding studs behind drywall very accurately. As the instruction stresses, it must be calibrated frequently to keep it accurate, but once it is done you can trust it. I drill 2'' holes to install the Ghostud I have been using, and I can see through the holes that location this detector identified is very accurate. I am basically using the 1'' mode. I also tried the metal and live wire modes, but did not find anything, so I cannot say about those features. The battery shipped with the detector is pretty bad, lost all power after 5 month. But once changing into a good battery it performs beautifully.

I read the instructions 8 times. This is the worst purchase of my life. I'm grateful it was only $20 and I can get my money back. I triple checked a stud, drilled into it. No stud. Moved the drill bit left to right, still no stud. Put the stud finder back up into that spot. Says there's a stud. I put the stud finder on both sides of an outlet. The outlet has to be connected to something. I've worked construction for 8 years, the outlet has to connect or be nailed to a stud. I tried multiple times for the stud finder to find the stud the outlet was connected to on both sides, up, down, all around. Nothing. It's only $20 so I debated for a while is it worth just smashing the stud finder with my hammer and smiling while doing so instead of getting my money back.
