I purchased this when there’s not a whole lot of reviews. Based on the fact it’s aluminum (no play during use) i made the purchase. This jig is accurate, the rigidity from aluminum also makes each holes consistent. Also came with blocks for setting up common thickness. Make sure the screw are tight as it may loosen after repetitive use. This jig is pretty easy to figure out how to use, very versatile with detachable parts, very well designed I must say! Dropped a couple of times in my garage and made absolutely no dent or anything, so fairly rigid. Overall this is the best jig I found after a lot of research.

After struggling with dowels for years I decided to give this jig a shot and I have been very happy with it. So far I have only used it on one fairly simple project, a Moses basket stand, but it worked really well and I was very happy with the results. I have been doing woodworking projects for several years and am happy to finally be able to confidently create all wood pieces with dowel assembly. There are some shortcomings of the jig, for instance setup can be finicky and the use of Phillips head screws feels antiquated compared to some designs, but it does work especially well with the setup blocks and the bushing seems to align itself to 90° in the jig very easily (so you're not fiddling with 1/64-1/32 difference between the two sides). I also wish it came with some sort of storage since there are extra pieces that you leave unattached, but I was able to 3D print a small case from Makerworld. I also found a 3D print to replace the included stops with stops that will automatically center 2 dowels for a 1x2 (and can also be used to offset matching holes) that came in VERY handy for this project.

I wanted to get a dowel jig for a project and I was concerned that a lot of the jigs are plastic. This one being aluminum and having a built in screw clamp, makes it very sturdy and robust. I was able to drill many dowel holes and have then all be aligned well. The included spacers are great for setting the dies to the right position based on board thickness, saving a little time on measuring and adjustments. I took off one star for not coming with a case to hold the clamp and included spacers.

This is a worthy Jig to have. I bought the drills, stop collars separate instead of the big kit that didn't have quite all you need for all three size dowel pins. Easy to setup and use. First repair was end joints on a Lazy Suzanne that had broken. Short time required to do more complicated joints, and they have good videos to get you started. I don't do enough of this type repair to justify the big Jog Kits. I'm happy with this Joint Master.

I ended up buying this tool after seeing reviews of the Dowelmax doweling jig and thinking I might need one. They are expensive. When I realized that this jig had nearly the same capabilities, but with a simpler design and was much cheaper, I decided to give it a go before dropping 5x on the Drillmax. I'm glad I saved myself some money, because after building a couple of projects with this jig I realize that it is quick and easy to set up, dowel holes (and joined faces) align perfectly, and I can't imagine that the more expensive jig would produce better results. It completely meets my needs at a fraction of the cost and with a less complex user experience.

Purchased a cheap dowel jig a long time ago and decided I needed something more. Found this one and was leary, but decided to take the plunge and glad I did. This jig is amazing! From the design aspect of it, it was well thought out making it very easy to use on multiple applications without having to change much at all. Remove two screws and move the plate and have it going from end to surface in a matter of seconds. The speed in being able to make the dowel holes is great and very easy to read and use. I used them on 2x10's and was able to get all 3 dowels in the project as I needed end, surface and face. The size is not too big, it's light enough that it doesn't feel super over weight and hard to use, but it is heavy enough that it will hold it's place. The all aluminum construction of the body is great and solid. Definitely recommended for any woodworkers workshop.

I am very pleased with this jig. Several notable things: (1) very versatile, one can move parts of the jig around and adjust it for almost any imaginable situation. (2) manual is very detailed and is actually written in English (not garbled Chinese English), manual is a document which one can understand, follow, and get the most from the tool, (3) very well packaged in a compact carton, one can use the tool and then fit all the pats back into the box and store it in the box. It is not a plastic container, but cardboard works well, especially considering the price of the tool. I was lazy to get my Domino joiner out, and was able to complete a small project with a couple of dozens of dowels very easily and quickly. Also, dowels and spare drills are very inexpensive.

It's either this or a pillar drill. If you don't want or have space for a pillar drill, this will keep your holes straight, a necessary function for a lot of joinery.

Solid well constructed jig, easy to use

Awesome little jig, used it to make a custom cabinet in the kitchen and everything lined up perfectly with not one issue. It worked so well that it’s inspired me to build more cabinets!
