Excellent Mandoline – A Must-Have Kitchen Tool!
Excellent Mandoline – A Must-Have Kitchen Tool!I recently purchased this mandoline on Amazon, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. It's simple to use, works efficiently, and offers great versatility for various slicing and julienning needs. The durable plastic material feels sturdy and is easy to clean, making the whole process hassle-free. Overall, a fantastic time-saver that I highly recommend for anyone looking to streamline their food prep!

Won't use another mandolin again, love this!
We have loved using this! I will never go back to normal mandolins after using this! It is very sharp, durable, and easy to use. I love the different cuts it does, while also being easy to shift between. It comes apart easily for a good clean up. You can avoid the blade while cleaning, so it is safe.

Don't despair at seeing the broken and misspelled English on the box and in the manual
Despite the manufacturer not being able to accurately translate and spellcheck the manual (the first thing you see in the manual is a section called "safty"), this is a fantastic item, fully worth the money. The engineering is clever, sturdy, and (with one exception) very well thought out. It does exactly what is says it does, although the learning curve on how to set the dials for certain cuts is slightly hampered by the bad English in the manual. Experimentation... risking a few cheap potatoes being random cuts... fixes that easily enough. The actual use, the actual cutting, is super easy and fairly consistent. There's always a few awkward cuts if the vegetable is oddly shaped and moves around a bit before you can fully stabilize it with the pusher thing (with longer vegetables you're going to be starting with hand pressure instead and switch to the pusher latet), but it's overall a snap to use. The input seems far larger than the Dash brand Mandoline that does the same thing. Okay, now onto the obvious weakness: it's clear that blade is eventually going to dull. It's non-replacable. When you dissamble it to clean it (the ONLY time there's even a minor chance of cutting yourself) you can see the blade is permanently bolted on. There's no clever engineering to make it removable and replaceable. In theory if they bothered to sell it, the entire cartridge assembly inside which includes the blade is probably replaceable... but given the shipping cost from Chins even if you CAN contact them, be understood, and properly make payment, I bet it would cost almost as much as buying a whole new mandoline. Hopefully that blade stays reasonably sharp for a few years. Note the disassembly and cleaning is also ridiculously easy. This is about a 4.5 of 5 for me due to the obvious planned obscelesance, but since we can't give half stars I'm settling on 4. If you have money to burn and don't mind potentially having to replace it with an identical unit when the blade dulls, then consider it 5 stars. It really DOES work that well. Oh... the one other minor ding besides deciphering the manual and the inevitable dulling is that it can't really chop (versus slice, julienne, etc). Their instruction for that is basically "put it through twice". Which is fine. That said, a $10 hand chopper is probably easier for that.

Well worth the investment!
This OnceForAll mandoline model is much better than the original. As advertised, it's bigger, overall, and the reservoir that collects the sliced foods is much bigger meaning you don't need to empty it as often if preparing a large salad, for example. The plunger handle is easier to use and smooth to operate, and has a better safety lock. As with the previous model, this "gadget" makes slicing completely safe since fingers never get close to the blades. This improved model is sturdier, safer, and well worth the investment, even if you already own the earlier version, like I did!

Any way you slice it- this is the unit to buy!
Highly recommend!Such an incredible time saver!! If you cut a lot of veggies this is a great tool.I personal chef in people’s homes. Some have ones I can use so I wanted to get my own to take with me while working. To compare:Large chute- awesome- saves you from having to cut down your veggies before loading in. Made for perfectly round paper thin onion slices- beautiful for carmelizing.Able to disassemble- perfect- much needed! Pieces can get trapped and are very hard to get out of other brands like pampered chef.Size and cutting options - great- labeling on pampered chef is a little nicer but it is easy to figure out.Catch tray- could be a little deeper- with all models I tried I find putting the whole unit in a sheet pan catches all the stray juices created and makes clean up easierSafety -Definitely use the cleaning brush. You can easily get cut otherwise when cleaning

Well made, safe, easy to use, easy to clean. Good product. Well thought out engineering.
My other slicer took the end of my finger off. I saw this one and it looked so much saver in design. I like making 1/8" plantain chips and air frying them until crisp. This slicer has a numbered depth dial that, it appears is in 1/8" in increments. It has undesignated half stops in between the numbers that is a 1/16" step. Really accurate. Put the item to be sliced in the chute and push down on the blade driver. Once the sliced item is short enough you continue with the pusher and operate the blade until the item is completely sliced up. Plantains look like a stack of quarters when done. If you use a potato you get potato chips. There is also a set of blades that can be used to slice vertically as well. With a thicker cut setting of the slicing blade and the use of the wider setting of the vertical blade, you get french fries. I also used this with both the vertical blades and the slicing to julianne a cucumber for a nice cucumber salad. Sliced veggie is dropped into a nice tray beneath the cutter.Easy to clean in the dishwasher top rack with low heat drying.I feel safe using this cutter and have disposed of my other slicers.

I personally would not recommend it
The mandolin works well and you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself. (Big Plus). It stays in place on the counter when you are using it to. The veggies fall into a bin under the mandolin, some fall onto the counter. I personally feel that it is more work to clean it then it is worth.
