Bought one, currently in 3rd day. Runs without problem now.At a price about 2/3 of the new ones, checked without any bad sector, this one worths its price now. Honestly, I was worried about this renewed hard drive, but the careful packaging prevented any issues.

It was basically DOA. My computer was able to detect it at first, but when running tests it threw a ton of errors. My computer couldn't read the drive the next day even after trying different cables and sata ports. I returned this and ordered a different drive that worked great out of the box.I don't see how this could be marked as manufacturer recertified if the manufacturer actually ran any tests on the drive to verify it actually works.

I use an external disk enclosure - nothing fancy, just a bare drive hook-up - and this allows me to maintain a RAID 0 for my large files.

It's a nice amount of backup storage; I expected it to be slow, so saying it is slow is a bit of a reach, but it seems to be doing well; I upgraded to see what I could do, so I got my self-5 of these in a raid, and as such they zoom trough the work now and its refunds. I got more than enough storage for all my data sets. It is a worthy task to get over 80GB of storage with redundancy and a lot faster response; for the money, you can not get any better unless you name sad or nas, make up your mind storage of thousands of dollars for a fast solution. This is the way for me at least

I set this up in a Synology DS223j NAS. They are very noisy, just about the noisiest drives I have ever had. System reports the drives are healthy, but they keep sounding as if something is grinding inside. I've use a lot of drives, but this is the first time I have heard that sort of noise from them. Near as I can tell, they do seem to be working. so I think I have to chalk them up to being reconditioned drives.

Using my 20tb hdd as backup for my plex media. Drive works perfectly. Seller is fantastic. Great drive great shipping, great service. Will buy future drives from this seller. Heck of a deal!!
