They work fantastic!! None of my roommates can hear it ...
This review is based on having these for only 4 days now. They work fantastic !! None of my roommates can hear it and the sound is perfect for me. The headset volume goes so high I could hurt my ears! You do have to have "line of sight" to the grey infrared transmitter box and if you start to move to far left or right of the box it's starts to pick up static and you will loose the signal. At which point it seems to default to a radio station !! For me it's a local Gospel station. The distance is good over 25 feet away and I still get clear loud sound. (That's as far as I could get while keeping the transmitter box in sight) set up was easy and straight forward and the extra connector/adapter is great for newer tv's with the red and white component out jacks. Mine set is slightly older and has the single headphone 3.5mm jack but I still get excellent sound out of both ear pieces. I have read some of the negative reviews about the quality/construction/sound/distance/directions, etc. All I can say is you get what you pay for, buying a 40 dollar rechargeable headset and expecting it to be built and operate like a 150 set is just fantasy. I am amazed that some people think they should get a Rolls Royce delivered when they paid for a Schwinn !!! For the price it is perfect. I have absolutely NO complaints thus far. Time will tell but if I can get at least 1 year out of these I'll be more than satisfied.

Works Great in Hostile EMI Environment
Followup eight months later. After eight months of continuous use I still like these headphones as much as when I first got them. If anything, my environment has gotten worse-- still no bad effects on the sound quality, battery still takes and holds a charge. I wonder if I can figure out how to hook these up to my MP3 player? The hardest part of setting up this product was moving the television around to get at the audio connections. I would describe my environment as "Hostile" to electronic products. In the same room that I am using this headset I am running 900MHz wireless networking, 2.4 GHz wireless networking, other 2.4 GHz devices, a microwave oven and wireless n devices at 5.something GHz. Also CDMA and GSM wireless telephone device and a Clear wireless hotspot. Kismet tells me it can see over 200 individual wireless networks in my immediate area. Oh, I'm right under a National Airport flight path also. I can't image a worse environment for electronics. This particular device, which doesn't use RF, performs flawlessly for me. I've tried everything to degrade performance of audio-- turned my back to the source, gone as far to both sides as the room allows, faced all directions. Perfect reception for me everywhere. I almost didn't purchase this product because of some of the negative reviews stating that you had to be in direct line-of-sight and any small deviation degraded sound quality. Maybe they had a previous version. Mine works perfectly. I needed to get a drink, so left the room. I had to get completely out of the room before the sound quality degraded, and it restored again before I actually got back into the room.If I had to demand better performance I wouldn't know what to ask for. This product works exactly as I want it to.

As The Birdie Says: Cheap...Cheap...Cheap!
In the first 2 minutes I owned this thing, the rubber strap across the top broke off on the left side while I was trying to see if I could make it comfortable enough to wear. Back to Amazon it goes!I own a previous version of this headphone set (I believe that it is the "777" version) that has served me flawlessly for over 4 years. The headphones (I bought an extra set so that my wife could listen to our bedroom TV with me) have been tossed around, laid on, and moved twice. They are still functioning fully and properly. I have even replaced the foam ear covers twice; like a Timex, they take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!I had a feeling as soon as I took these new headphones out of the package that they weren't cut from the same piece of cloth as my older ones; they were heavy, but flimsy (how does one pull that difficult task off?). I tried the headphones on and I couldn't seem to get them to stay down on my ears without riding up on my head. I took them off and tugged (gently) on the right side of the rubber head strap and found that there was a thinner rubber section there that seemed to serve as a relief of some sort. I then (just as gently) tugged on the left side. Pop went the weasel! The left side pulled right out, making the headphones completely useless. In the first 2 minutes of ownership! I think that's a new record for me.Normally I would accept a replacement, realizing that manufacturing will never be a 100% process. But these things were so cheaply made that I immediately determined that I needed to send them back for a refund. And so I did.
