SWAN 32 Keys Piano Molodica Musical Instrument with Carrying Case,Black (SW32J-3)

For $24 this thing plays like a professional instrument. I'm thoroughly surprised by the build quality of not only the instrument but also the case it came in. There are a few keys near the top that have some trouble if I play between them too fast (the high A and B in particular don't play exactly when I need them to) but I'm guessing that's something that I can fix by opening the melodica up and tweaking the mechanics. (Something I intend to do.)If you're looking for a very high quality portable instrument but don't have that much money to drop on it, the Swan 37 is the right choice for you.

This was a gift for a piano player.He loves it and enjoys it more as a novelty, musical toy.The sound is nice and it's well made for a cheap, plastic instrument.I would give it 5 stars except for 2 points,1. It is LOUD. I make him stop playing it after a while because I just can't take it, especially in the evening because I don't want to disturb my neighbors.2. It is operated with a mouthpiece and tube. It gets very wet with saliva and needs to be well cleaned with each use. It's kinda gross.Overall, it is enjoyed by the user so I would buy it again.

I purchased this melodica only I few days ago and have been putting through it's paces. So far I am quite pleased. It sounds beautiful for a pretty inexpensive melodica. It appears to be fairly in tune. Not a musician pro or semi pro but an avid music lover and hobby player. For any one looking to learn the melodica this is an excellent buy. It would fit well into any ensemble. For those saying melodicas are just a toy, when the harmonica was first invented they said the same thing but look at all the wonderful things they're doing with them now. Its a bit loud for practice so find a place away from others(you wouldn't want to drive them up the wall lol). The vibrato through breath control takes a little practice but still sounds decent. Breath control is important as multiple notes cause a change in volume to other notes played. Overall great buy. Would definitely purchase again.

I have wanted one of these for a while, and for the price I decided to jump on it thinking it could be a throw away if it didn't last long. It surprisingly sounds nice and is in tuned well. I would have given it 5 stars based on this alone. However, the case, the tube and the melodica itself all reek of mildew odor. I am really hoping that the smell subsides because it is completely off-putting. For under $20 it's not worth sending back for a replacement, but be aware if you buy this you could also get something with a horrible mildew smell.

Overall, the reeds don't respond well to softer air, the tone is a little plasticy, and it's off-balance, favoring the high notes. ...nothing that shouldn't be expected of a low-budget instrument, though. If you're not spending $100 on a melodica, this delivers what you're probably asking for. 3 full octaves is a really nice feature.
