Nice metronome
I found no issues with the plastic case as some have noted. The timing is good as compared with my digital metronome so, no issues there either.

Beautiful and Accurate
A beautiful and accurate piece. I was very much impressed with the look of this metronome when I removed it from the box -- it's like a fine piece of furniture! The accuracy and ease of use were equally impressive. Just don't forget to open the bottom to remove the padding (used for shipping) before you try to use it, like I did :)I was glad I spent the extra money for this item. It was well worth it.

Attractive. Arrived early in good shape.
Many buyers complained that the instrument is plastic rather than wood . It is, but it is attractive and works very well. I would have liked a wooden metronome, but for the price there is no basis to complain of this product. The shipping box arrived undamaged and the interior boxing was soundly packaged. Thank you.

Great success. This is my 3rd Metronome purchase
Great success. This is my 3rd Metronome purchase, not because I'm accomplished musician but because I didn't realize how much I'd need the first one, put it away and wasn't able to locate it for awhile. My second was horribly disappointing. It was approx the same price as this one. I purchased it at the music store. It was the same style (wind-up rather than digital) but the workings, and particularly the winding stem, was a chrome coated plastic, and so weak that when I attempted to attach the winder to begin use I wasn't able to line it up properly, tearing the tip of winder off and making it unusable. What a disaster! I didn't have any of those problems with this well designed and well constructed metronome. I opened the box, noted the unusual packing which protected the internal working. I was able to get it in to use immediately and have enjoyed it's well designed appearance. I thought I wanted a tradition style with a wood exterior. This is so well designed you wouldn't know it wasn't wood it you weren't touching it. It looks great weather in use or not while sitting in my music area, and I kept the extra packaging to insure that if I move I will have a chance of getting it to my next home safely. Seems to be reliable in timing and in all other ways I'm happy with this purchase. Thank you.

You need this
As a professional musician spanning back into the 1990’s I was a self taught guitarist; that absorbed everything practicing up to 18 hours a day. The one thing in my favor was my internal metronome has always been very good. I decided to go back to college and they require a mechanical metronome; not digital. Where this metronome shines is not only do you hear it (if you want), and it’s adjustable based on the time signature. You also visualize it as the rod and weight obviously move back and forth. I’m going for my Masters degree in the arts, and I cannot stress enough to always play to a mechanical metronome. I’ve adjusted this Tempi metronome from way faster than anyone can play to so slow you’re going to cover any and all tempo’s you can possibly need. Remember you can always sub divide the tempo as well, that’s where the ease of adjusting the unit shines. It’s more than loud enough to be heard at any “practice” level. You can as I’ve said earlier adjust the tempo just by sliding the weight up or, down. The bell is a nice feature as it shows you the first beat or, heard it actually. You can change when the first beat is at with a simple push/pull slider on the right side of the unit, the mechanical winder is right there as well, before use always crank it up. I’ve let it run for hours without needing to rewind. My only complaint and I’m sure if I spent double the money I could get this unit made of real wood. I’m probably weird, but I’d love to see a wooden body over plastic made to look like mahogany. Overall though despite my only complaint about real wood versus plastic I still give it 5 stars and totally recommend it without reservation. Happy playing in time everyone !

Returned it. Would give half a star (just for arriving) if I could.
Disappointed with the actual metronome I received.First off, the most important factor to consider when getting a metronome (personally, at least): accuracy. This is not accurate. I downloaded 2 different, well-rated, digital metronome apps to test and both times Tempi’s metronome soon ended up lagging behind, then syncing up again, and the cycle repeats itself.Secondly, cheap plastic. Seriously. I knew it was made of plastic, and I didn’t mind, all things considered. But this is really cheap and flimsy/fragile. As per the instructions, I tried removing the bottom plate with a key (then with a metal ruler when that didn’t work). The plastic literally flakes off, which is quite impressive given that I am typically warier, and extra gentle in handling, among other things, new items and have never quite encountered anything like this.Third: the instructions are sufficient if you have experience with a metronome before. Otherwise, if you have not, and you are a stickler for ‘doing it right’/care/worry a lot about handling one right, I would recommend googling and watching the video(s) available first, as the terms used in the written instructions and the figures shown on it –also with incomplete labeling– use different terms.Fourth: I messaged the company with my concern and asked for advice, and received no reply whatsoever. Looking at the other reviews it seems I’m not the only one.Other things to note:This metronome is LOUD. That may be a plus for some of you, however.I didn’t factor in, and wasn’t expecting the “FREE E-BOOK and 2 MONTHS OF FREE ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS” into my purchase, originally, but for those of you that might be swayed into buying this with that as a contributing factor, just note you might have to go looking/asking for it. There seemed to be no indication of it whatsoever as you buy and receive the metronome.
