Great Value
Great timer for the price! Build quality is acceptable. The housing and fittings are all plastic. Battery is changed via tool less door. It takes (2) AA. All features described work well, it keeps time accurately and doesn’t drift off when set.My only complaints:You can’t quite see the display if it’s in direct sunlight. Which is common among any LCD.You will need to use a water hammer arrestor with this, which is typical of any of these water timers. You will also likely need to use teflon/plumbers tape to ensure a tight fit and avoid leaks.

Good but some minor issues
Works well just don’t leave it outside when the weather freezes. This is a replacement for one I left hooked up and I’m guessing the cold weather may have cracked the interior plastic because when I started using it again, the water started coming out of the seams. I’m in the south USA but we still have some freezes. Also, one of the outlets just will not close so I had to cap it to keep water from pouring out when I use one of the other zones. So lesson learned.

Great sprinkler timer - easy to use
I've had the sprinkler timer for about a month now and it's working great. Easy to set up, easy to manage and it's been running fine. Others have said that this thing rips through batteries, but I'm not seeing that at all. The battery indicator has been showing a full charge since I set it up. FWIW, i'm used fresh DuraCell AAs.I like how easy it is to delay the timed cycles when it's raining or forecast to rain. The only negative thing, and it's really not the fault of the timer is that it's highly recommended that you use an anti-siphon coupler between the device and the main spigot. The annoyance is that the anti-siphon coupler makes a rather loud humming noise for the 1st 2 minutes of any zone watering. Luckily it goes away after 2 min. Other than that, I recommend this with 5 stars.

Failed then worked then failed again…. returning
Why did you pick this product vs others?:It failed after one week. Valve was stuck open on zone 3. I then did a manual 1 minute time for all 4 zones hoping that would close the valve, that did the trick. I was going to give it another try but now I just went outside to look at it after another 2 days of working properly and now the real time changed from 630 pm to 10 am. What a pos. It will be returned now. Do not by. All this chip technology is garbage!

it's ok, never lasts more than 1 season
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This timer is pretty easy to use and has done an adequate job of keeping my flowers alive during the summer. However, it never lasts more than 1 season. There is always some valve broken after 3-4 months. So I have to buy a new one every year. I've also noticed the threading on the 1st and 4th hose connection point is inconsistently machined. I have to be super super careful not to cross thread them, and one was visibly messed up upon arrival. All told, it's ok. I hope to eventually find a better one.

Easy setup and works well.
I was about to give them a one star review and return them but as it turns out, they just needed new batteries. It doesn't take much to power the display but apparently the valve operation needs pretty fresh batteries. The problem was that zones would be just running all the time and the timer wouldn't control anything. I had purchased two of these and one kept zone 4 open all the time so it's possible that one was defective. The other one and the replacement for the bad one worked great for a couple weeks and then suddenly multiple zones would be open and running all the time.I was using the cheap Amazon AA batteries and before returning them as defective, I decided to try one last thing, new batteries! Now both are working well again.Setting them up is easy and pretty intuitive. You just toggle through the different positions with the middle button and make adjustments with the arrows. I was confused about the days at first, I set them to 7 days thinking that meant water all 7 days but it actually means water once every 7 days. If you want them to water every day set this to 1.
