Excellent product, works great and was easy to install.

I custom fabricated my own deck gate to keep grandchild & grand-dog contained. I've already been harassed about having a "pool" latch on my deck. But... having seen D&D Technologies' MagnaLatch at most every vacation spot I've visited, how could one ignore the abuse those latches endure? Though heavy duty, I'm not excited about the latch being 95% plastic. I've seen photos on line where UV rays lighten their color over time. But hey, at least they won't rust! The snap-on screw cover gives it that final touch! I like the larger diameter self threading screws that were provided. To keep the brackets from wandering about my aluminum posts during installation, I clamped them into place. Using a 1/4" drill bit & the holes in the brackets as my template, I made a very shallow indentation in my post. This provided a recess for a much smaller drill bit, located in the exact center of each hole. The screws went in much easier than the instructions & the brackets never moved! I did not reply to the "Sturdiness" review because they've only been installed for a few days. I'm also paying close attention to what the great ball in the sky is gonna do to the finish. All in all, the latch came excellently packaged, all parts were there & it installed very easily. As a not-so-inexpensive latch, I figured the Aussies had some kind of on-line warranty registration?

Love these latches. Easy to open gates and helps from small children being able to access the latch.

Purchased these to replace the standard gate latch on new fencing around a pool. PROS Sturdy. Relatively easy to install. Puts latches out of reach of children. Lockable. CON After recent rainy weather that turned to below freezing temperatures, went out to do some maintenance around the pool. Could not get either latch open as they were frozen in the locked position. We're not talking 'cased in ice' here; just water that had gotten inside, no visible ice outside.

Used this to replace a failed lock on an existing gate. I installed easily and is working perfectly.

This was a good fit for my garden gate.

The latch/lock is exactly as described, including very clear installation instructions. This is exactly the part we needed for our pool gate. Ordered three and after 11 months had difficulty with one. Contacted customer support, they could not have been more helpful and responsive. Absolutely will do business with this company again if needed.

I used this to replace a 10 year old latch that had started to rust and not close. None of the holes lined up, but careful placement of the components covered up the old holes. I did make the mistake of installing like the old one was installed, but then the gate didn't latch as I had left it with too wide of a gap (I had mounted it on the inside of the gate, not the outside which left a 2" gap). The old latch adjusted to cover the wider gap, I needed to move it to mount to the outside of the gate for a 1.25" gap. Moral of the story, read the directions and measure before installing.
