There's no going back after this.
First off, let me start by saying that reasons I took one star off this review is due to the auto dimming. I get it that it helps prolong the screen life and reduces the risk of burn in, but it can be quite annoying to have to "trigger" activity to get the screen brightness back up. There are tricks to reducing this occurrence, ranging from using live wallpapers, to moving windows around the screen from time to time, or using the included remote control.Other reason is that the screws that connect the base to the monitor are ridiculously soft and strip easily. And the fact that the way the accessories were packed in the box didn't quite give me the sense that this was a New In Box item, and more like an Open Box / Returned item. The tape sealing the packing box certainly did not look like how LG typically does packaging. Now, with that out of the way....THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE MONITOR. It's huge, and it's not uncomfortably sharp. Yeah, everyone talks about clarity and sharpness until eye fatigue sets in. This is "just right", and I deal with design work all day long. You get a HDMI 2.1 cable with the monitor, along with a DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI cable with this monitor, and a USB Upstream to USB-A cable. What you want to order along with this is a DisplayPort 1.4 to USB-C cable, and that makes it so much neater. The monitor has 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 DisplayPort 1.4 port, a USB Upstream port (which turns your monitor into a USB hub - more on that in a bit), 2 USB-A ports, and an optical out port. And a nice cable organizer down the back - make sure you get cables that are nice and flexible, as stiff cables are a PITA to route. Also note that this monitor weighs close to 17 kg and despite having a surprisingly stable base with a small footprint, you'll want to set up your cable management BEFORE moving it into final position. You also want to get another pair of hands to help you move this thing around. Here's my setup, and I hope this saves you some time figuring out "what works best", which is used for multiple users in my home- DisplayPort 1.4 using DisplayPort 1.4 to USB-C cable for gaming at up to 120hz (I haven't found out how to overclock to 138hz) - this makes it SUPER simple to connect a laptop with USB-C and USB-A- USB Upstream cable from monitor to laptop (you can also get a USB Upstream to USB-C cable if your laptop doesn't have a USB-A port- 1 USB-A port connects to my Keychron K8 Pro keyboard via USB-A to USB-C cable- 1 USB-A port takes my Logitech 2.4ghz Unifying Receiver. Doing so means that anyone connected to the USB-IN cable can use my keyboard and mouse without setup. Simple plug and play- HDMI 2.1 via HDMI 2.1 cable to my Playstation 5, so I can get 120hz/fps gaming on the monitorThis leaves me with 2 extra HDMI 2.1 ports, which I plan to connect- an Apple TV 4K- a mini-PC so that others in the family have a common PC to useSince I get full 4k from my laptops and Steam Deck, there's TONS of space to work with. I have windows for music (Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube Music), messaging (Telegram/WhatsApp), web browser (for research) and apps (Word/Powerpoint/Excel/Outlook) and there is enough space to get everything on screen AT THE SAME TIME.Remember that this is pretty much 4 1080p (FHD) screens working in a 2x2 format at 24" per screen...The remote control is REALLY nice. It's big, it's chonky, and it's the gold standard for simple remotes. There's a power button and Source button top left and right, then big squishy buttons for menu, game mode, reader mode, etc. And then there's THE dial - it's spring loaded, twists left/right, and functions as a 4-directional D-pad, and press down to select. You use it to trigger modes, and there are a bunch of profiles from gamer 1, gamer 2, fps mode, rts mode, etc that give you a different look.Oh, and the user manual is pretty much useless. LG's web site isn't particularly helpful either and doesn't explain why I cannot get Reader mode working.Who's this for? If you are looking for a big screen for- general use- gaming on PS, Xbox, regular game modes/aspect- watching moviesI decided on this instead of a 49" curved ultrawide display because- ultrawides are horrible for work - imagine having to look far left and then far right. Eye and neck fatigue- not all games support ultrawide (most of my favorite ones do)- not as good to watch movies on.

Beautiful Pictures but not good to work with
[+] Amazing Picture Quality, crispy clear and colorful pictures, i guess really good for gaming.[+] Nice big picture to be able to put the Monitor even a bit more far away (for example on a stand instead of the table) to relax your eyes.[+] convenient also to watch movies (with Notebook or Samsung DEX Smartphone)But unfortunately i am returning this monitor as i need/using it only for productivity cases (and not gaming):[-] Typography not very clear to read[-] local dimming disturbes: big white areas are getting dimmed down..[-] burn in possible & mind not free: together with my work i had now all the time in my mind to not leave the windows long term like they are (because of burn in)[-] the whole feel with this monitor is "it is not a producitivity monitor" - especially if you use also another monitor and focus on the other one, this one is dimming down, etc. it feels like there is something wrong.I would recommend this monitor only, if you are using it mainly for entertainment (gaming, movies, etc.), of course you can also browse and read on the monitor, but it is definately not a strenght!
