Egg Incubator, Chicken Incubators for Hatching Eggs with Automatic Egg Turning and Temperature Control, 9-12 Eggs Poultry Hatcher for Chicken Duck Bird

I have my third batch of chicks hatching as I type. First few batches were low hatch rates through no fault of the incubator. I did not use multiple methods to verify the proper temp. This batch of 9 eggs 3 have already pipped and they all looked good on development. Some things to know. 1. Calibrate with a known accurate thermometer(mercury is the best I've found) 2. The fuse is a spare and you should not need it for a long while. 3. If you have larger eggs you will obviously fit fewer eggs. 4. Run it for a week with just a humidity sensor in it so you can find the right amount of water you need each day.(mine ended up being only 55 mls to maintain proper humidity and 65ml's during lock down period) 5. The directions aren't great but the pictures are easy to follow and after initial setup you really only need to read the tables anyhow. I am not the smartest bulb but after a few times reading the manual I had it down just fine. Otherwise works great for my small homestead and beefing up my flocks numbers a bit. I'm happy with how it works and the results.

Very happy I chose this incubator. I spent a few weeks reading reviews and learning what I wanted in my new incubator. I picked this one for it's simplicity and auto turner. I read reviews and watched some videos on YouTube about setup and use. I will agree the instructions included are a little confusing, especially if you aren't a seasoned Hatcher. But the setup is simple and can easily be done with a little research. My first time using this incubator I chose to hatch 6 kakhi Campbell duck eggs. The person I purchased the eggs from recommended not using the auto turner with duck and instead hand turning the eggs. So that is what I did. The temperature was off by about a half a degree and it doesn't have a humidity reader. But for less than 10 doallors you can get one off Amazon or a local pet store. The temperature did fluctuate somewhat depending on the weather conditions so I recommend keeping an eye on that through your hatches. Out of the six eggs, 5 were fertile and 5 hatched. Healthy and strong ducks! The second time I used the incubator was for 3 chicken eggs. We are about a week until hatch and they are developing on schedule so far. Very glad I picked this incubator.

Overall I'm very happy with this incubator. It works very well and is a good price. I'm on my 2nd hatch with it. On the first one, 7/8 eggs hatched however 3 died within a few days. My 2nd hatch I started off with a thermometer/hygrometer that I bought separately and so glad I did. I found that the incubator temperature is not very reliable at all. But with a $20 thermometer/hygrometer added, I feel much more at ease. I am needing to keep the incubator set at around 39* C in order to maintain a temp of 99.5*F as indicated by my thermometer, so it obviously runs cooler because 39 C should = 102.2* F but my thermometer is not recording that high. It also only automatically sets the humidity so I have peace of mind having that hygrometer in there as I've had to add water a couple of times which I wouldn't have known my first time around without it. I have 7 out of 9 eggs currently developing. It makes me wonder if my 3 I lost were due to not being aware of the temp/humidity being off the first time. This incubator is easy to use, but don't rely on the directions because they're written in broken English. Instead, use YouTube videos that are out there and rely on advice here. Definitely a great buy, but having your own thermometer/hygrometer to more accurately test temp and humidity is an absolute must.

I was very anxious about incubating eggs after reading other reviews that mentioned birth defects. I chose 9 eggs from our Easter Eggers and gave it a go. The temperature reading the machine is not accurate according to the temperature/hygrometer I also purchased. I highly recommend that add-on. I wrapped a bath towel around the machine. I had a 100% development rate with 67% hatch rate. The 3 I lost were from hatching issues with the chicks, not the incubator. 5/12/2021 update: Incubated 10 eggs with 100% hatch rate. I also added a thermometer/hygrometer with a probe that I placed in the incubator. Much easier to see a constant humidity for hatching.

This Janoel12 is my third incubator and by far the easiest to use, clean, and store. The YouTube video explaining how to set it up was excellent and easy to understand. The best feature is the temperature control. I've had issues in the past with kids playing with the knobs and inadvertently changing the temperature inside the incubator. This one is automatic and fool-proof. It worked very well. My only concern is the fact that it is difficult for the kids to really see inside during incubation. The parts for the 'turner' are fine, but I couldn't use the dividers because most of our eggs were too large. We placed them inside the square grid, lightly marked the eggs, and found that they turned well without the dividers. I recommend this incubator for any classroom teacher wanting to give their kids this experience.

It did it's job but there's better one's out there with better features at the same price point. I was only able to fit 9 chicken eggs in it. The automatic egg roller is a bad design and the manual is lacking. Going through the menu I found abbreviations and settings that are not mentioned in the manual.

I’ve had this incubator for over two years and have incubated at least 7 clutches of eggs in that time, chicken, peafowl and duck. I had great results each time, always at least a 75% hatch rate, once a 100%! Just an FYI: it only fits 9 eggs (6 duck) with the auto-turner in. The 12 estimate is only without it, or maybe with bantam/quails. I live in the high (7k) desert (NM) and I just keep a 1/2 inch of water down below the entire time, and it always seems to do the trick!
