Great value for money, only 1 part a bit malfunctioning
Super easy to use, great choice of parts, great quality and the tutorials were great. I had ONE issue: the sound detection module was impossible to calibrate; I couldn't get the pot low enough so even in a quiet room the digital input was stuck at "on". I couldn't find a way to contact the manufacturer to let them know this was defective, perhaps they'll respond to this comment? However, I saw how the operation of the part worked and a replacement will be cheap, so I'm not really bothered. Note that the tutorials are meant to get you acquainted with the components, not be the worlds' most exciting projects. That's ok and actually appropriate: there is so much online to really get you that next step. It's more important that Elegoo give you good quality components, clear spec sheets and a simple "how to use". Some of the tutorials were just the slightest bit confusing on the operation (I wasn't precisely sure how to wire the item), and as such I had to reference the data sheet; for example, the wiring on the PIR wasn't super clear since the project showed the front of the PIR, but the pins were on the back and I connected it backwards. However, this was minimal and actually trained me to read the data sheets, so no harm. In all, very useful. One recommendation: use the Arduino online creator in a browser instead of the IDE on your computer per the instructions. The online creator worked flawlessly (once I installed the required plugin for the browser to communicate to the board for my Mac), and it's super nice to have your sketches in the cloud. I would have liked some MOSFETs in the package - that's all I had to buy on my own, otherwise I had all the parts I needed to do almost any project I want. Next up: protoboards, soldering, and making some projects permanent! (I actually think I'm going to try to buy separate ATMega chips, because that's not very difficult to do.) In all, this kit was all I needed to go from novice to confident. And I'm sure I'll have some of these parts for a long long time, as they're good quality.

Great way to start learning about Arduino
Great product - really happy with this purchase. Great introduction to Arduino. The board is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE (I wasn't sure how that would work when purchasing - all works great). The kit comes with a set of tutorials and code samples. Dvd in the box, but I downloaded from their website. We are still running through the lessons - it was easier to get the IDE communicating with the board than I expected. Cord included to connect to the board requires USB A... If you have a modern Mac you may need to get get a USB A to USB C converter. Still loads to learn and experiment with. This kit has been a great way to start out and get some fundamentals figured out... Very happy this is what I chose as a starting point - a solid foundation.

Excellent for learning to code
Brilliant product, excellent for learning and practicing coding

Good introduction to microcontrollers
A recommended bit of kit, cheaper than an Arduino but Elegoo have a good reputation as 3rd party manufacturers of Arduino boards under the open source agreement. It is fully compatible with the Arduino Uno. The included kit contains lots of parts to get you started in lots of areas from robotic motors to sensors for all sorts of things and discrete components and breadboards for building the associated electronics. In my kit the RFID module didn't work at all and the 4 digit display had a digit that didn't work. All the parts in the kit were there and individual parts are easily obtainable cheaply on Amazon. having done the 33 lessons which basically illustrate the capabilities of the Elegoo Uno board I now feel ready to take on more advanced projects like those on the official Arduino website.

Good quality, comprehensive kit.
Really pleased with this kit. Obviously not used much of it yet (which will probably take experimentation over coming months) but the Uno itself works perfectly and looks to be manufactured to a high quality (good thickness of PCB, good component placement, perfect soldering etc.) In fact, the whole kit has an air of quality about it, and, contained neatly in a case, gives a deserved impression of a well thought out experimentation set. Although a 'more mature student' (well, OK then, an old geezer), I have been interested in teaching myself the basics of Arduino for some time (not least so I have some idea of what my young, great - Nephews are talking about), and I'm confident this will fit the bill perfectly. In fact, in no time at all I was able to program the LED on the board to blink quickly or slowly. So already, if NASA ever need one of their LEDs 'blinking', I might immodestly say that I would consider myself adequately qualified for the job! The other, less tangible quality this kit has, is that when I opened it, I was instantly taken back in time (more decades than I care to remember) to the excitement I felt as a lad when I opened my first Meccano set, with the endless possibilities it promised. This kit was worth it's price for that alone! Seriously, though, this does look an exceptionally well provisioned kit of good quality at a good price which I would have no problem in recommending to others.

Great Product and collection of components.
The Uno R3 Project Box is a great option for anyone wanting to get into electronics and the Arduino. All of the components seem to be of good quality, although there were two components which had slightly bent pins but nothing that caused a problem and were easily straightened with no negative effect on the component itself. I bought the product with one specific project in mind although now I have all of the components I have thought of plenty of other projects to do. The only very minor issue I have come across so far is that the cd did not read in my drive, but that could well be either a one-off or an issue with my drive. This is not a problem though, as everything on the CD is also provided on the Elegoo website. The PDF guide seems well written and provides enough information to at least get started, covering installing the Arduino IDE, required drivers and connecting the UNO R3 to your PC. In all honesty, I haven't followed through and completed all of the tutorials. That said, having looked through them, they do cover some information that isn't necessarily self-explanatory, such as covering the usage of breadboards, resistors, schematics, wiring diagrams and Pulse Width Modulation. I think it's a good resource that would come in handy for reference should you need it. I would say that whomever wrote the PDF enjoyed doing so and gives a good amount of information on each of the points. It's easy to understand and well-written. Also included on the cd/download are the required libraries for using some of the additional modules and components so you will need to grab them and follow he instructions on the PDF for adding the libraries to your Arduino IDE. Great value, educational and inspiring
The kit contains everything you need to get started,a UNO R3, a breadboard, jumper cables and lots of sensors, LEDs and other bits such as resistors that are necessary but easily overlooked. The documentation is fairly good; a PDF book tells you what each of the sensors does in broad terms, and how to wire it up. The programming code is provided for each project and everything I've tried works right out the box, so full marks. The book doesn't give detail on programming, so it is possible to make a project work, without actually understanding what you've done. Having said that, there's plenty on the web to get you started, or you can buy "Arduino for Dummies" (as I did) to go with the Elegoo kit. I have a strong programming background and used to work in a team designing early PCs, before the IBM PC came out. It's been great fun to get back to those days. Much of what I can do now would have been way too expensive in those days! Thanks to the Internet I've been creating my own projects with components that cost a couple of pounds, including radio controlled devices, and a weather station. I'm planning on getting back to my university roots and doing some radio astronomy too. Seriously, the electronics cost under ten pounds. This kit is great value, and I would recommend giving it to any youngster so that they can get a feel of what can be done with modern technology. Or give to an oldie like me - we all like a new toy!
