Q: I have had problems with wheels collapsing in the past . Are these sturdily attached to case on an axel?

I have had no problem with the wheels, and I use this case all the time for business.

Q: will a 15 inch laptop fit the lower front pocket?

No. It is ok for an iPad but 15 inch laptop is too big. I used a tape measure for you and 13 inch is about max

Good morning. No. The case fits snugly in to the baggage size checkers (EasyJet and Ryanair). I always then volunteer to have the bag placed in the hold (free of charge due to on-board space constraints) with never any comments regarding the suitcase being too big, in any case, and payment therefore required. I traveled with Ryanair yesterday. I had two of those and nothing happened. However, I had priority boarding, which entitles me to 2 pieces of hand baggage. I suspect if one doesn’t have it, they might object. The best is to check the sizes, and allowed weight for hand luggage, on Ryanair website.
