Best hoover ever!!!
Three months on. This machine was well worth the money. Constantly charges. Easy to hold with arthritic hands. The quality is so much better than anything I have ever owned. You actually spend less time hoovering as it picks up dirt so efficiently. That's the bit I like most. Time saved!! Gets under beds easily and the tools click on and off very easily.. another advantage for sore hands.... would not settle for anything else now...

Absolutely!
Absolutely love it. The day before I first used it I'd vacuumed with a Henry type vacuum, thought my carpet was clean. I gave it a quick going over with the Dyson and in less than two minutes had the equivalent of a full head of pet hair visible in the dust chamber. A pleasure to use and on opening it looked just like scrunched up wig, all the hair aligned. The carpet was visibly lighter and looked brand new! Very impressed. There is enough energy in the batteries to do the whole house (3 bedroom bungalow) with about 50% carpet/ 50% laminate floor coverings. With the the charger attached to the wall bracket under the stairs it's quick and easy to put away with the fully automatic charging system showing state of charge and shutting down when full. Should ensure long battery life. There are two filters that need washing once a month which will be soon. Looks straight forward, they're easy to take off the machine and better solution than paying for new filters and bags for the life of the machine. It's the most expensive appliance in the house but so far worth every penny.

Good so far ! That’s why only 4 stars
So far so Good! Having two long haired teenaged girls, two cats, a dog and a husband who won’t except his thining on top. I was losing the uphill struggle of hair wars, I needed something quick light and easy to use on a daily basis, I had an earlier dyson plug-in, which I hated and replaced with my trusted Miele (still going strong 10 years) But was finding it to be too heavy to give a quick vac when needed. was really worried this would be rubbish, but was wrong and finding it perfect for my needs, I have hardwood floors, and find the soft head really good, plus the small motorised head for hairs on furniture a must have: the standard brush head works a treat on rugs. These all work fine on the lower power settings much better infact then using the normal crevice tools for skirtings etc which I feel needs to be used on full power, which is ok as these attachments do not use as much battery, not sure I would be willing to bin my Old vac and go completely cordless. Even though the dyson is a good bit of expensive kit, I don’t think it would be any good for a weekly intense clean, in my house anyway, the battery just would not last, Maybe it would be all you need if you live in a apartment on your own (one can only dream, lucky you !) also don’t think it would have lasted 2 minutes with abuse I have put my poor Miele through over the years. So it’s nice to have both . All in all it is excellent, for keeping the dreaded hairs etc down and from stopping me pulling mine out to add to the problem . Also I purchased extra filters which for me is a must as I can’t stand waiting for them to dry.

It's brilliant!
After months and months of research, and humming and hawing, I finally decided to buy the Dyson v8 absolute (I have carpet and hard floors). For some reason I always thought I'd never buy a Dyson. I have had a corded Miele for years and loved it, but I felt vacuuming has moved on and wanted to go both cordless and lighter, but without losing quality! Miele don't do cordless, so I had a decision to make. Long story short, I'm absolutely delighted with my purchase! So impressed! No loss in suction compared to my corded Miele, and an awful lot easier to manoeuvre. I'd read reviews saying the holder can only carry 2 accessories, but to be honest, I don't really use the accessories, so thst doesn't bother me! Never really have with any vacuum I've owned. But I did see a floor stand which I think can hold all the accessories and the vacuum for charging, which I might buy at some point to avoid drilling into the wall for the hanging bracket. Also feel it's worth mentioning that changing the heads to suit the floor surface is really, really easy! Just click one head out and click the other on. Soft head for hard floor, regular head for carpet. Actually get excited when I see a bit of cat fluff needing vacuumed up! And, possibly one of the most important points for me, it picks up first time. Great stuff!

Absolutely Totally Different Animal..........................
Yes " It Broke My Heart To Get Rid Of Our Old Dyson" just because it was so powerful. Dont get me wrong, nothing happened to it and it sucked today as well as it did at the start. I just fancied a wee upgrade because the lead of the old one was a pain, unplugging re-plugging again and getting extension cords out to the car, you know what I mean. Now this Baby is an "Absolutely Totally Different Animal lol" We dont mow ourselves with no cord lagging behind us, actually we still think the cord is behind us. Now the suction has drop from a 10 down to a 6 but its not running on power from the wall with a cord and people tend to forget that. It still does our house great and I really cannot fault it as yet. Now yes I bought the V8 when the new V10 has just arrived and that made the V8 drop in price and when the V12 arrives, I will buy the V10. Its simple logic " Buy a good hoover when its cheaper." With the "absolute" you get so many different attachments that all has there own uses. The icing on the cake for me is when I saw the box for the first time and saw it was shrink wrapped and I knew it was brand spanking new as some product come now with a bit of tape holding the box closed and your not 100% sure if its new or a second. Anyway This Dyson guy really knows what hes doing imo as before the two Dyson machines I have bought, we were going through hoovers at a rate of 10 in 20 years with cheap hoovers and thats the truth. SIMPLE, if your Looking, then you're Thinking and If I were you, I would start Buying. P.S For those of you that like to keep a clean car, man is this good for it. The motorized stair brush tool make short work of the carpet mats and the carpets and I was cleaning the clean with it with all the tools turning it off and on for over an hour and there was still 1 bar left on the charge. NO LEADS. As Janice would say in "Friends" OH MY GOD" its good.

Dyson batteries are an absolute disgrace!
I've purchased 2 of these hoovers, the Dyson V8 Absolute and the Dyson V8 Fluffy+ and both hoovers almost immediately after the 12 month 'warranty' expired the batteries went from 20 minutes cleaning (never 40 minutes as advertised) to now less than 5 minutes cleaning time! I'm really disappointed that James Dyson and Dyson hoovers won't invest time and money to develop a battery that will last at least 2 years and work to the times they advertise. The batteries Dyson supply for this hoover are absolutely appalling and should not be allowed to be sold. I've used Dyson hoovers since the DC01 (and I still have it) but switched brands because I felt Dyson lost its way through the years. However, the marketing was so good for this hoover I thought I would give it a go and was initially so impressed I bought a second V8 and gave it to my father. My partner and my father are men who don't do any housework and to get any man to do the vacuuming is a miracle, and the fact they both loved using their Dysons was brilliant to watch, especially since my mum and I wouldn't have to do the hoovering any more! Just over twelve months after buying these 2 vacuums they both depleted their batteries to the point where a 'full charge' would last no more than 5 minutes. Every time the hoover was used the batteries were exhausted and then charged before using again. This is always the best way to make sure any rechargeable battery will last longer. However, Dyson batteries for this hoover are a joke and should not be allowed to be sold. Any rechargeable battery that cannot provide at least 2 years service is unfair and now I have to buy a new battery every year just so these hoovers can be used for 20 minutes on full power. Overall the hoovers are good, especially for men as they seem to be addicted to using them but if James Dyson or anyone else from Dyson reads this review please spend some money on developing a decent battery and not provide these cheap alternatives which seem to be supplied as standard for Dyson hoovers!

Revolutionary cleaning
I have been tracking this item for some time and researched reviews including the top consumer magazine, where it was listed as a Best Buy in it's top 5 results. I held back on ordering for price reasons as it is a very expensive item and I had a bad experience with an upright Dyson many years ago. However, I am delighted with this vacuum so far (have been using for one week). It is very easy to put together and the instructions are clear. Although 20% charged on arrival I charged for a further 5 hours, as suggested and it was ready to go. There are a great assortment of tools - 2 floor heads, one mini turbo and 3 tools which I feel is a comprehensive selection. Only two tools can be stored in the docking station and it would have been nice for them all to be housed. However, this is a small matter. Suction power is good and the 40 minute charge is more than adequate for a whole (3-bedroom) house. I haven't had to use the turbo feature. Vacuuming is so much quicker without having to wrestle with leads and hoses and blow-back of air from my cylinder vacuum. The hand unit is well balanced. I was concerned by reviews that stated you had to keep the power button pressed during cleaning as my husband has arthritis and I thought this may become significant. However, it's more of a grip control than a button and quite light to activate which makes it much easier plus you don't have to do the whole house in one go. I found the hand unit brilliant on the stairs and it was easier to manoeuvre and clean thoroughly without leads and hoses to hinder and present a trip hazard. I will save money on bags and filters so overall it will probably be cheaper to run. Dyson recommend you wash the filters in cold water each month for optimum performance. Empting the dust canister is easy and the only time I've had to touch the dust is to remove the small residue which clings to the top of the canister. This hasn't been a problem to remove with a wooden coffee stirrer. I purchased this item from Amazon Marketplace at a much more reasonable price than the big suppliers were offering so I am completely delighted with the price, performance and delivery. Would happily recommend.

Does What It Says – No Frills, Just Function
It’s a Dyson handheld—so yeah, it vacuums. Nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done. Suction’s solid, battery life is decent, and it’s light enough to grab for quick clean-ups. Don’t expect miracles or magic tricks—it won’t renovate your house—but if you want something that simply works, this one’s reliable. Not exciting, not revolutionary—but dependable. And sometimes, that’s enough.
