If you look around Amazon you can find all manner of kitchen gadgets of varying usefulness. Maybe its just me, but I've never found a banana particularly difficult to slice and don't do it often enough to merit a specific tool for the job (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Craft-KCBANSLICE-Banana-Slicer/dp/B003CLFC98/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1439278538&sr=1-1&keywords=banana+slicer). I'm also capable of biting a banana, so often I'll completely forgo the slicing and go straight to eating. That might give you an indication of how recalcitrant I can be. I'm the James Dean of yellow fruit consumption. The same cannot be said for red fruit. Not because its red, but because most red fruit has a green bit attached. Tomatoes, grapes, strawberries, peppers, the list goes on... I don't do green. I wait for the aforementioned bananas to ripen from green to yellow. It's no coincidence that Superman was impervious to everything but the green mineral Kryptonite. And sprouts, obviously, although much less was made of this in the films. But now, a miracle of modern engineering has arrived. Fire, the wheel, the atom. Mere stepping stones on the road to humanity's greatest achievement. Nobel prizes should be awarded. The designer should be given a medal the size of a frying pan. Have my money. Take my first born. This little beauty takes out the green bit from my favourite fruit. It's easy to use. Fast. Effective. It's easy to clean. The good people of the world no longer have to fear the risk of an accidentally ingesting a green bit, and can enjoy their fruit in blissful equanimity. Now if the inventor can come up with a way to remove Facebook from the face of the Earth their elevation to godhood would be assured.

Looks great and good reviews but bought for a strawberry loving relations birthday so unable to comment further atm but will definitely be a present with a difference!

After buying one for my son I just had to get my own. Easy to use, wish I’d bought one before. Nice looking straw berry huller

The Idea is great - shame that when we came to use the item it fell apart because there was pin missing from the bottom section Please see photo as to have we resolved it using a tie-wrap through the hole to hold the unit all together. Please check it when it arrives.

Works well and my son enjoyed preparing his own strawberries for two days until the novelty wore off

Having used the tweezer-style hullers with varying success, I thought I'd try this one. It really is a very efficient little tool and quite satisfying to use; a simple press on the plunger, stick the four blades into the fruit around the leaves, release the plunger, twist, and Bob's your uncle. I did read one review which said that this huller wasn't any good for small strawberries but this is wrong- you just don't push the blades in as far and it works just the same. it also helps that it is a nice little gadget. Out of interest I have also bought one of the very cheap copies of the Chef'n StemGem and although it looks very similar it definately has a flimsier, cheaper feel to it, and the blades are looser- it also arrived without a plunger knob- it must have fallen off before being posted as the missing part wasn't in the bag! You pays your money as they say...

Although it is definitely not of the same quality as the more expensive ones, it seems ok, and is a great price. I've not used it as it is a gift for someone so I don't know how long it will last. When it arrived, the green top bit was separated from the main bit, but it fitted back on. Fortunately, it was not a gift for Xmas because I ordered it on 15 Dec and was given a delivery date of up to 15 Jan 2015. It did arrive on 3 Jan 2015. I wondered why they advised a delivery time of a month but nowhere on the description page could I find any details of where it was coming from. I had assumed the UK. It actually came from Singapore; just in an envelope with no invoice details. I've given it 4 stars because it is very good value for money. I would be hesitant to order anything from this seller of a higher value.

Durante los últimos meses, he estado influenciado por la moda de los smoothies de frutas, semillas, etc. muy natural pues; y este pequeño artefacto hace un excelente trabajo removiendo la parte que hay que limpiar de las fresas, o sea la parte del lado verde que es donde más suciedad pueden acumular estos deliciosísimos frutos. Al principio me costó un poco (tal vez unas 5 o 6 fresas) entender la mecánica y lógica de éste producto, y esque hay que tomar en cuenta los siguientes factores: 1- Empujar el botón verde para abrir la pinza, tanto como sea necesario; esto dependiendo del tamaño de la fresa (o qué tanto quieras remover de la fresa). 2.- Colocar la pinza abierta justo en el centro del area a remover. 3.- Hacer un poco de presión entre la pinza y la fresa Y AL MISMO TIEMPO girar la pinza en un solo sentido para que asi corte el trozo no deseado sin excederse. Estos pasos hay que repetirlos con cada fresa; tengan paciencia, despues de unos cuantos intentos seguro les va a gustar este producto tanto como a mi.

Sie gehören zu meinem absoluten Lieblingsobst. Da ich seit einem Unfall im Rollstuhl sitze, war es für mich lange Zeit nicht möglich, meine Erdbeeren selber zu entstrunken (habe kaum noch Greifkraft). Durch einen Zufall bin ich auf dieses praktische Helferlein gestossen und möchte es nicht mehr missen! Erdbeeren vom Grünzeug befreien ist so kinderleicht, auch für Kinder und Behinderte – ganz ohne Kraftaufwand und dreckige Finger. Zum Entstrunker: Der Chef’n Erdbeerentstrunker besteht aus einem robusten Schaft aus rotem Kunststoff. Am unteren Ende befindet sich die Greifzange, diese besteht aus vier Metallgreifern. Am oberen Ende ist der grüne Knopf zum Auslösen der Greiffunktion. Sobald man den Knopf drückt, öffnen sich die vier Metallgreifer und man umfasst damit den Strunk (Grünzeug) der Erdbeere. Lässt man den grünen Knopf los, schliessen sich die Metallgreifer und das Grünzeug wird festgehalten. Jetzt dreht man das Werkzeug (oder die Erdbeere) ein bisschen und zieht dann das Werkzeug von der Erdbeere weg. Schwuppdiwupp, das gesamte Grünzeug wurde restlos entfernt und in der Erdbeere verbleibt ein gleichmässiges, schönes Loch (bzw. Kuhle). Auch bei unreifen Erdbeeren die noch halb weiss sind, funktioniert der Entstrunker prima! Selbst eine grosse Schale Erdbeeren lässt sich so schnell und gleichmässig entstrunken. Man muss nicht mehr mit den Fingern herumrupfen oder mit mit einem Messer hantieren. Keine schmutzigen, klebigen Finger und keine Verletzungsgefahr. Ich gebe meinen Erdbeerentstrunker nicht mehr her! Er ist so praktisch, dass mich schon einige Verwandte und Bekannte darauf angesprochen haben und sich dann auch gleich einen bestellt haben. Auch für die Kids ist dieses Helferlein ein grosser Spass, und vor allem ungefährlich! Scharfe Messer haben in Kinderhänden nämlich nichts zu suchen. 5 Sterne für eine super Idee, die nicht nur Behinderten wie mir das Erdbeer putzen leichter macht. 🍓 Ich gebe mir beim Schreiben all meiner Rezensionen und Bewertungen immer sehr viel Mühe. Pensé que sería una pérdida de dinero, pero ha sido un instrumento útil para quitar los tallos de las fresas con gran sencillez y sin apenas desperdicio. Si tienes un huertecito o te gustan mucho las fresas, lo acabarás usando. Y apenas ocupa espacio en el cajón de los cubiertos

ustensile très pratique,et performant, bonne présentation de la fraise, aucun gaspillage, je recommande ardemment l'équeuteur de fraises et de tomates !
