Very stiff memory foam, which I need being a big fella. I'm using this to fill the dip in a bucket car seat which is designed for far slimmer behinds than mine and is very uncomfortable for me. I have trimmed the foam to shape so it nestles perfectly in the car seat and refitted the cover. I used a bread knife for shaping and this worked perfectly, the stiffness of the foam makes shaping easy. If there were some improvements I'd make; the non-slip dots could do with more grip on a leather chair, it could do with a notch to relieve pressure on the coccyx.I have tried several normal cushions and an orthopaedic cushion but none provide the fit or stiffness I needed. This is a godsend.

Just received the item, with no smell from the foam. The quality is excellent and well worth the Amazon price. The cushion dimensions are 48 wide x 44 x 8.5cm. See the uploaded pic. My mum is 95y and sits for hours every day in her recliner. She has moderate Alzheimers and cannot use the electric rising feature. When I use ithe riser for her, she starts screaming. Recently, after a fall, she finds it difficult to get up from the chair. She weighs around 67kg (10.5 stone).Therefore, I decided to try this cushion in order to raise the seat cushion height. I will report again, in due course, regarding the cushion's effectiveness.

it is ok if you don't use for long time it goes flat but then when you get up it goes back ok it is comfy

This is very good quality and well made but unfortunately my husband finds it much too hard to sit on comfortably fast delivery.This is an update I use the cushion and love it. It is firm but comfortable making it easier to get out of the chair.

I bought this to use with a new chair I'd bought for working from home. The chair is pretty good, but the seat cushion gave no support.The size of this cushion is about perfect - it is almost exactly the same size as the chair.It is thick (8cm), but it squashes down after about 30 seconds. I'm not exactly light (115kg), and it is probably down to about 1cm at its thinnest. You end up with a cushion that is moulded to your shape, and it is a lot more comfortable than the original seat. But it is by no means perfect.It is so thick it significantly raises the height of the chair when you first sit on it. It is so high that I have to stand on tiptoe before sitting on the chair.It has no coccyx cut-out, so I'm starting to find that uncomfortable at times.Although it is tapered right at the front edge, I still find it sometimes digs into the back of my thighs.The base doesn't slip on the cushion. However the velour cover on top is too slippy. The chair can angle slightly forward to give a better position for working, but then I just slowly slide off the cushion.(I have a Travel Ease gel/memory foam cushion that I use while travelling, and it is a lot more comfortable. Unfortunately it is also a lot smaller - too small for the chair. If they made a bigger one I'd buy it in a heartbeat.)I'll keep this and will use it daily as it is better than the chair cushion, but I'll keep looking for something better.

I weigh 308lbs, well within the 500lb maximum. This cushion flattens like a pancake as soon as you sit on it. Yes it recovers to the full shape when you are not sitting on it - but the whole point is to get comfort and support whilst you are actually using it. The sales pictures of the woman sitting and someone standing on the cushion are completely misleading. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM!

A robust chunk of memory foam that slowly (i.e. 10-15 seconds) takes up the form of your "derrière" and feels quite supportive and comfortable. I haven't tried any higher priced medical products that are similar to this, but I can't imagine them being that much better. I have been sitting on this all day 5 days per week for the past 8 weeks and it still returns to its original shape almost instantly. It also does not feel hot to sit on. I would recommend this cushion.

Very firm supportive cushion but sank within a few weeks of regular usr so pretty useless to avoid coccyx or sciatic pain.
