So every kitchen should have one of these, it is so much easier and more convenient than dragging out some kind of motorized device or even that square cheese grater thingy that most people have that'll pretty much take the meat off your knuckles if you're not careful. Granted you're not going to shred up pounds of cheese with this but that's not the idea. You're looking for a little parmesan on top of your Italian dish or a little bit of cheese for flavor while you're cooking something, this is perfect. I've also used it to shred up or grate some ginger as anyone that's used Ginger knows that you don't really need a whole lot. It also works rather well for garlic however I have other methods for that. But yeah anyway this is one of those items that even if you don't really need it and you're just looking around Amazon because you're bored and you stumbled across this, it's not too expensive go ahead and buy it for yourself. You never know you might be doing something in the kitchen and suddenly realize and having this is the perfect tool for the job...

Been using this for a while now and it still maintains its sharpness. I’ve only ever used it for cheese so can’t comment on anything else but it does the job well and gets a nice fine shred. Also haven’t had any rust or visual wear on it and I almost always put it in the dishwasher

A little smaller than I expected, but worked great for Parmesan cheese. I’m sure it will work great for lemon zesting!

Overall the quality is great- durable, easy grip even for a lefty, quick to clean. We purchased for the purpose of grating cheese without using our big multi block grader and this grate is too fine. More like minced cheese over shredded. Still works great for other foods like ginger or garlic.
