This was purchased to replace the standard plastic hozelock adapter. I’ve now been using this one for six months and am extremely pleased, it feels solid and well made. Much more solid than the plastic original. It was extremely easy to install and connects to the hose perfectly everytime without any leaks. Definitely worth spending some extra £££.

Hopefully this will last but I am sceptical due to the amount of plastic. It fitted well and has provided a good seal onto the tap.The body of the connector might be metal but all the inserts inside and working parts look to be made of plastic. My experience of plastic hose connections is that they dont last. Time will tell how long this connector lasts.

These are pricey but are very well made. I have never believed in the plastic hose connectors therefore I opted for brass ones. But I have found over the years these become very stiff and the little plastic seals perish so that they leak alot. Therefore its time for a replacement which is why I opted for these.They are a doddle to fit, simply unscrew the bottom slide it onto the hose then push on the main part before tightening it back up.They slip onto connectors and attachments with a satisfying click. They are no leaks to report so far and they are very robust.They work fine with any hose, I have used them on a non-hozelock hose.

Pleased with this purchase to go with my new 40m auto-reel hosepipe. Whilst the interior of this connector is still the same plastic construction, the outer metal case should ensure that it stand up to the rigours of the weather better than the standard plastic ones. I'll still be bringing it in during the winter though, just to be on the safe side. A discounted price for buying to hosereel at the same time made it good value too.

These are the B's knees for hose connection and are much more durable than the standard versions.

Good hozelock connector. Probably not worth the premium over the all plastic variant, as the internals of this are still plastic. The metal is just an outer ring.

I bought this metal hose connector as I was tired of plastic ones breaking and leaking. It has a reassuringly heavy feel. I can see that the internal mechanisms are more solidly constructed that the equivalent plastic components.You can see from the picture there is a small pipe support at one end, the idea is to stop sideways pressure from the hosepipe being exerting on the fitting. A simple idea to avoid one of the causes of a leaky connection. It appears to work quite well.It is too early to tell how well it will last, but the early signs are promising.
