Exceeded My Expectations
I am currently using this exact keyboard to type out this review. To keep it brief and to the point, I’ll elaborate on the title of this review a bit: This sub-$100 keyboard case far exceeded my expectations. It amazes me how far we’ve come in terms of affordable keyboard cases for tablets, considering my history with some very questionable ones dating back to the Google Nexus 7 (I’m getting up there, I know).I have this paired with my iPad Air M3 and it almost feels like a first-party companion. The iPad attaches to the keyboard case magnetically. The magnets are strong and hold the iPad in place firm enough to keep it from moving, but not so firm that you can’t remove the tablet with one hand. This is perfect for whenever I’m done using the keyboard and want to take the iPad to bed (for which I have the ESR folio case and it’s also fantastic). The keyboard and trackpad connect via Bluetooth, which had me a bit skeptical at first since I feared there would be some sort of delay. Thankfully that doesn’t seem to be the case. There is a small amount of delay with the trackpad, but I believe that’s mostly due to the pointer on the iPad itself and not so much the trackpad on this case. I had to fiddle with the trackpad settings to get it to where it’s comfortable and easy to use (TURN OFF INERTIA, TRUST ME). All of the shortcuts that would work with Apple’s (incredibly overpriced) Magic Keyboard will work with this one as well. I’ve been using Logic Pro for iPad and this keyboard has saved me tons of headaches allowing me to use shortcuts to move around the timeline, play/pause, record, etc. The backlighting is also a GREAT touch, considering the Magic Keyboard for the newer iPad Air doesn’t even have backlit keys..Okay, maybe not so brief. TLDR; it does everything you need it to for a fraction of what Tim is asking for. Also, REALLY good battery life, and the keyboard goes into a sleep mode if not in use which is always nice.

Overall a very nice Keyboard…..So far
*Update 5/22/25: I take back everything back I said, I absolutely love my keyboard. I use my IPad to get patient’s ready to see the doctor and it’s held up extremely nicely! i absolutely love itI have had several keyboard cases on my quest to find the best one for my IPad. I wanted to make a Mini Mac book as i don’t have any need for an actually Mac book. This case is a really really good alternative to the extremely expensive Apple keyboard. Trust me also, don’t go too cheap on the keyboard as I’ve tried everything from the $29 Price range up to this ESR case is the most expensive one i purchased.Pros: Really good Battery life so far, I like how the battery widget will also display the battery life for the keyboard. It’s nice to be able to track the battery life and not have it just die randomly like the others I purchased. The track pad is really responsive, i figured out how to turn on the Tap-to-Click feature and so far it’s been great. Other cheaper keyboards I purchased the track pads would laaaaaagggg which I hated.I only have two complaints with this product, 1st: I wish the screen tilted back just a little more, If I’m typing for work and I’m not at a desk I have to try and find a counter that is higher so its not a weird angle to be looking. 2nd: I have had to retrain myself to type because my fingers bang into the bottom of the IPad pretty much the entire time i type. At first I was really not happy however over time i have improved my typing and the amount of impacts are decreasing with time, i wish the special characters line was its own dedicated line instead of mixed in with the numbers. It’s only a slightly annoyance but if you’re changing the volume a lot you will have to keep using the “FN” key to do it.Overall it’s a great keyboard, I use my IPad pretty much all day long at work so I needed something that can hold up to this. I’ll update as it ages also

Has nice functions, but please read the pros and cons
I bought this to use as a replacement for my Zagg keyborad for my iPad 10th Generation. I used it at a work conference and it did ok. Below are my pros and cons:Pros:-I love the lit keys and that you can adjust not only the color, but also the brightness of the keys-I like the weight and size of it.-It holds my Apple Pencil.-I like the keyboard and its simplicity of just magnetically attaching to the keyboard case.Cons:-At least the black version of this case shows smudges and fingerprint.-It is top heavy. Keeping it on a flat surface like a desk, it does better, but if you have it in your lap, you have to hold it down with your hands.-It does not have a dedicated “home” key like other brands. It does have keyboard key shortcuts like ”cmd + H” for the home button.I had an issue and I contacted ESR tech support. One thing I have noticed with ESR is their top notch support. They stand by, wanting the best for their customers. They corrected the issue and I and pleased with them and their ipad

Great alternative to Apples keyboard
I love this brand more with every purchase. This case is no different . The trackpad is responsive and keys are silent which is a huge plus. The battery life is great haven’t had a need to charge it since I bought it. I love the cantilever style the hinge feels great and strong. It’s a great alternative to the Apple version especially at 1/3 of the price.

Great keyboard
I have used this keyboard almost every day for school and it works so bell! I love that it’s not too thick but it is sturdy so my iPad is protected! The color is super bright and I love the look of the keyboard! There is also no delay when I type!

Pretty good for 1/3 the price of an Apple keyboard
It works! The keyboard has a good feel, the magnet holds the iPad securely, the keyboard lights up nicely, trackpad works well. The Apply keyboard has a kickstand which the Surface already showed did not work well on your lap. This keyboard works fine on my lap.Cons: The keyboard on my unit has a slight bend to it. It doesn’t get power from the iPad, you have to power it separately. Because it uses Bluetooth it takes a few seconds to connect to the iPad.Finally, could someone in China please make the old Smart Folio keyboard for Apple iPads. It was thin and light, useful for occasional typing. These new keyboards are so heavy. The iPad + keyboard combo weighs more than an Air.
