It works!
This was definitely better than I expected for the price! They're not as flimsy as I thought, and the master unit is quite heavy due to the presence of the four C batteries inside it! Installation is very easy, you just strip off the ends of the cable and spin them around two screws on the bottom to wire the thing up. The only difficulty I encountered had to do with installing the batteries - the battery compartment is VERY snug and I had trouble with putting the batteries in successfully. Once I got them in, though, the device has worked perfectly. Sound quality is alright, and it certainly makes messaging the other room easy! This is a fun low-tech solution, and it definitely works.

So disappointed.
I was so looking forward to receiving this product as my husband is ill and it would have been a great help for him to be able to just push button to let me know he needed help in the night. When it was delivered I opened the parcel, read the instructions ,such as they were , and loaded the appropriate batteries. Well I have to say after two sets of brand new batteries I gave up! The unit was bereft of life! The little red light never came on to indicate that there was life in the box at all, I can only assume it was never going to go live whatever I did. And so I've had to return the unit, as I said sadly because it was ideal for the purpose,

Bargain!
This intercom was so keenly priced that frankly, I wasn't expecting it to be up to much, but I couldn't have been more mistaken! It's nicely made, easy to use, and the sound reproduction is excellent. I have the master unit installed in the attached garage with the slave unit in the kitchen. Only the master unit has batteries in it - four 'C' cells (not supplied). In use, it's normally switched off, but if the master unit wishes to call the slave, you switch it on and press the call button to speak. Even with the intercom switched off, the slave unit can call the master unit by pressing the call button the call button, which makes a loud bleep at the master unit. If not already switched on, the master unit is then switched on and either party can talk. There's no need for the button on the slave unit to be pressed to talk - only to call. You don't need to be close to the slave unit to talk or be heard - you can talk from the other side of the room. Quite attractive units, which can be either placed on a level surface or can be wall mounted (four small screws of the correct size are included). It comes with a humongously long reel of thin twin insulated wire, enough to go from ground floor to upstairs, or to a garden shed or whatever. No hesitation in giving it five stars - speedy free delivery too.In two words; highly chuffed!

excellent value for money BUT...
The Eagle intercom system is based on a donkeys years old tried & tested circuitry. Without a doubt, it works and for the money you pay its value, but the audio sounds very wooly and muffled. The system uses a speaker both as a speaker but also as microphone. As a speaker, its fine but as a microphone, its not very good. Its easy to install and much cheaper than anything else available but I would have happily paid more money for a better system apart from one major fault. At least the Eagle system is wired so perfectly private. All the other units I see on Amazon seem to have 16 radio frequency channels on the licence free PMR446 radio band. Fine if you don't mind everybody & his dog listening in on your business from mules around. They have much clearer audio but only useable if you want to broadcast your daily life to all and sundry. So if you don't mind muffled audio, then get these. If you don't like the muffled audio, they are still better than the radio freqency ones.

Does the job perfectly
Firstly here was the problem I face: I did not like yelling up the stairs for the kids to come down and need to find the solution. Solution: Buy an intercom. The product is easy to use, you can buzz or talk. You need to purchase batteries or there is an AV adaptor socket (the product came with neither). Please note you only need 4 batteries for the main and 'no batteries' are needed for the receiving intercom. The product itself was so easy to use and works a treat. The installation of batteries and wires were simple. Note there is a very very long wire so you will have plenty for the larger houses.Seriously good to stop you yelling. If kids are not up buzz or call them. Price is spot on. DOES THE JOB NICELY.Gets a good vote from me 4.5 stars overall.

Faulty product
I cannot properly rate this product because it was faulty. The control lead was open circuit in two places. I repaired this but the unit appeared to be stuck in call mode when the power switch was off. I returned the unit for a refund on 3rd October and as of yesterday (20th) no refund has been received.

Does the job.
This was a replacement for one used to communicate from the kitchen to an upstairs office. very easy to setup - only two wires! Once connected and the batteries inserted, it worked straight away. The advert states it has a 'Call Chime'. - it doesn't, it is buzzer! My only complaint is, although it has provision for a mains adaptor, I can not find any details of the size of the plug required (I think it is 5.50x2.1 mm). Also the buzzer is somewhat quiet.Apart from that it works well and does the job.
