Guitar players best kept secret!
I’ve been playing guitar for nearly 28 years. It’s always been a learning curve. I’ve always been a plug in and play kind of guy and a little ignorant when it comes to these things, but have been using certain pedals over the last couple of years. Cannot recommend this pedal enough. Works absolutely flawless with my Marshall DSL50 Head. With the level full, tone at about about 4.8 and drive on zero it helps a ridiculous amount in controlling the overall tone. The bass is tightened up and sounds less ‘flubby’, the overall sound is so much tighter and defined. If you play mid to high gain I couldn’t recommend this enough. I wish I had known about this pedal back in the day seeming as it’s been unchanged since around 1980/1981.

Classic overdrive
Let’s be realistic - as far as classic overdrive stomp boxes go, it’s either this or the Tube Screamer - this is cheaper, better made, and it’s a pleasantly cheerful shade of yellow. Boss distortion pedals never did it for me (too much too soon on the dials - much like their chorus fx) but this is awesome and has plenty of subtle shifts in the sound. It’s priced in a zone where the upper clones live, but it’s indestructible and looks typically well finished. It’s the pedal every parent should buy their electric guitar playing son/daughter.

Great on Synths
Using this on a Behringer td-3. Introduces some lovely warmth and distortion to my acids.

SD-1
Anyone looking at this knows what the SD-1 is all about. Great pedal. Different flavour of the ts sound with a little more versatility if you want to stack with another od/dis/fuzz. Thumbs up from me.

Nosiy
Originally I gave this 5 stars but I saw that the noise from it is rediculous. All my pedals are pro pedals, even my eq is an mxr now (first Pic it was a joyo-I've added a Pic of my board now this has been removed ) and I use brand new voodoo labs power, all other pedals don't produce noise at all (bar the box of rock naturally it's a beasty distortion pedal-and the gate handles that very easily) but as soon as I hit this the hissing is awful, the gate has to be cranked so high it affects mg attack and sound, Even with the gate off I don't know why but this pedal just isn't loud for me, I've tried it in different spots in the chain, taken other pedals out and same result. Noisy and just not loud, I ended up using it as a tone boost as I liked the treble sound from the tone being turned at 1pm. That's it... So it's been returned lol. Turns out I didn't need one.. I just use my box of rock boost and mxr line boost for my overdrive with my guitar volume turned a little down, that works great as overdrive! Much better than this tone wise and no noise! Might be great for you, it's meant to be a staple iconic pedal used by all, not for me, but listening on YouTube demos I preferred the sound of this over the tube Screamer oddly and I'm a hard rock metal fan! Must be that lush treble sound from its tone my ears like! Check it out though, might be your thing and if not return it for free!
