Spear & Jackson Plastic Leaf Grabber

This is such a brilliant item to pick up leaves. Assembly is so simple as it just clicks together, it's not too big and seems very sturdy. This is such a game changer for me as it saves you bending your back to pick up leaves. Brilliant!

When I opened the box I was a little uncertain. It seemed smaller than I'd pictured. The 'scoops' section is longer and narrower than I'd pictured (compared to my Big Hands shovellers) However, there was a mountain of leaves to pick up so I set to work. This tool is fantastic! Feels lightweight yet well made and substantial, easy to operate - it opened with the handles parted, placed over the pile, closed the handles together and it picked up great armful of leaves in one fell scoop! I had filled my recycling bin in a fraction of the time it would usually have taken me and whether a small scoop or a large helping of leaves, this tool was just the job and my lower back was grateful too! I'm not saying it'll get every single mortal leaf on each scoop, but if you're dealing with piles that you've swept up together or ones that have amassed? This is a piece of helpful garden gadge. We'll worth the money.

Absolutely brilliant piece of equipment for picking up leaves. Just rake them up into a pile and let the grabber do it's work. No more bending down and doing your back in! It's lightweight and sturdy. Great price too.

First use of these today, worked very well, the shovels are wide and pick up very well. Extremely easy to use. If I had to pick at something, the metal arms clip into the plastic shovels at the bottom so over time, they may start to break at the joint with a lot of use. But that may never happen! Highly recommend these.

Autumn, the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness". And leaves. Lots and lots of leaves.I don't actually have any trees in my garden. But my neighbours on both sides do. Big ones. And a large proportion of THEIR leaves end up in my garden. All over it.I have some of those giant glove type leaf grabbers, a couple of pairs, actually. And they do work. But oh, after a few scoops, my poor old back starts to complain. And whilst my garden is pretty small, there really are a LOT of leaves to tackle.So, this year I went for this long handled leaf-grabber thing.Yay! It is so much easier to pick up the leaves when standing upright! Whilst it will still be a long job, and need multiple sessions as the leaves are not so kind as to fall off all at once, it is definitely a lot less painful!The "mouth" bit, that does the actual grabbing, is quite flexible, and I am not really sure if this is to stop it breaking... but I have been busy grabbing leaves over the past few days, and so far it seems totally up to the task in hand. I am not worrying that it is going to snap.So well worth the price for making an annoying, but necessary job considerably easier... and for saving me from backache for the rest of the day!

Lightweight but sturdy, this grabber is easy to use. There's a lot less bending over, so it's less strain on your back.
