Have this under the smallrig cage for my GH5 in order to add 15mm tunes. Works a treat. It’s slightly larger than I thought it would be but that’s a good thing. It’s by far the cheapest way of adding 15mm tubes to your SLR or mirrorless system. The also allows TWO screws to attach to the bottom of my GH5 cage which is a bonus as for many users it seems that only one hole lines up.

I did not realise when I bought this item it was specifically for Sony FS5 and Canon C100 . I used it on my Fuji XT3 and its= seems to be ok. It is very robustly made and has loads of holes in it for screwing things in. What I like about it is it has both 3/8 and 1/4 inch screws for camera mount. At first I used the one screw and it was a bit shaky. I then discovered that I could screw both screws in as it is attached to a Small rig cage which has loads of holes in it and the camera them screws onto the cage. The cage adds much more versatility due to the multitude of mount points.

Handy base plate for my Sony ILME FX3, the rubber pads with the 1/4 screw, keep the camera securely locked in place and then the tripod plate has two mounts to attach to, stops the camera from twisting. I use the 15mm rod holders to mount a monitor or battery at the rear and with longer rails, add a matt box and focus puller on the lens. This base plate also has the advantage of raising the camera from the Tripod, so bigger diameter lenses don't touch. Well made equipment as usual from Smallrigg.

Die Basisplatte ist genau das, was man für ein solides Setup braucht. Sie ist sauber verarbeitet, hält Kamera und 15 mm Rods sicher und lässt sich schnell ins Rig integrieren. Nichts wackelt, alles sitzt fest – egal ob mit Käfig oder direkt an der Kamera. Für mich eine zuverlässige Platte, die in keinem Rig fehlen sollte, besonders zu dem Preis.

Questo pezzo SmallRig è una garanzia. Lo uso per riggare la mia Sony A7 e posso dire che è una roccia. Tutto in metallo, lavorato benissimo, con viti precise e un morsetto che stringe come si deve. Tiene le aste da 15 mm perfettamente allineate, e il blocco è solido anche con follow focus, matte box e accessori pesanti montati sopra. La base è compatta ma pesante il giusto da dare stabilità al rig, e la filettatura inferiore ti permette di fissarla a qualsiasi cavalletto o slitta. Mai un allentamento, mai un gioco. È uno di quei componenti che compri una volta e tieni per sempre nel kit. Pro: costruzione top, blocco preciso, versatile, perfetto per rig video. Contro: un po’ pesante, ma è il prezzo della solidità. SmallRig, come sempre, una certezza: qualità da set professionale a prezzo umano.
