Bought this for a present for my mum. She loves it says it’s great for her purpose in garden and very sharp!

Always sharp
Fantastic bit of kit. Great for deadheading or reshaping lavender and other bushes or perennials after flowering.

One handed clipping
I have double handed hedge clippers, I have a petrol driven hedge clipper; these tools are two handed. And are used for heavier cutting. For lighter, more focussed jobs the Jakoti are a single handed tool which means one hand can grasp the material to be cut whilst the other hand can use the shears. They are spring loaded and one can happily clip away. They seem to be very sharp. they can easily deal with ornamental grasses and not snag: they cut clean. I trimmed a privet bush and they happily dealt with the tips. I have used them to cut back dead herbaceous materials and they are a great tool due to the one hand operation. I cut through some leather that was at least 3mm thick and it produced a very clean line.I have not tested them on thicker stems lest I mis-align the scissor action: I would use secateurs. They are not a replacement for hedge clippers or secateurs; they are part of an "arsenal" of tools to tame the garden. No idea what they are like on sheep!

Amazing hand held tool!
I love this tool, I’ve had one for years which was given to me for a present. I misplaced it and had to order another as can’t live without it. I bought some for my daughter, also my Gardner loved them so much he got one not just for gardening but sheering his few sheep that he has.Good for topiary or just trimming and cutting back the blades are very sharp and cut through small woody stems easily. Much better than secateurs.Luckily found the ones I lost after a couple of days really good to have a spare pair. Couldn’t live without them.

Good garden tool
These are ideal for many tidying jobs and handle all grassy, perennial and light shrubs. Work well ans easy on the hands. Wouldn't try to prune heavier bulky rose bushes or trees but that's not what I got them for (I have secateurs for that).

Essential for serious gardeners
I would not want to be without these and use them almost every day. Unlike secateurs they are brilliant for cutting down grasses and Hemerocallis, chopping weeds for the compost heap, trimming odd patches of longer grass, cutting twine, dead-heading several blooms at once....until you try them you will not realise their full potential but for me they have been a revelation and saved an awful lot of time and effort. They are carbon steel so you do need to take a little carre to stop them rusting but a quick spray with WD40 and a wipe down after use seems to keep them in good condition (and I have left them in the garden overnight by accident a couple of times, and lost them in the compost heap). The only problem is that the clip which holds them closed can fall out of position and prevent the blades closing together but with a bit of practice you can avooid this. They are longer than secateurs and more pointed so will enable you to get right into plants and even root out the odd weed. Highly recommended.
