Why did you pick this product vs others?: My son loved playing with this at school, so I know he already enjoyed it! This STEM building set has been a hit with my child. With 600 pieces, there’s plenty of straws and connectors to build towers, houses, cars, or whatever their imagination comes up with. The colors are bright, and the pieces fit together securely without being too hard for little hands to work with. I like that it encourages problem-solving and fine motor skills while keeping kids entertained for long stretches of time. It’s also lightweight and easy to store, so we can take it on trips or to grandparents’ houses for quiet play. Perfect for ages 5 and up, but younger kids may need a little help at first.

These are great for my students in 4th grade to play with. They are durable and hold up well. Huge amount and type of pieces.

This toy has provides hours of building fun for our 5 year old grandson. I wish there were some instructions for how to make the pictured projects.

I purchased this straw construction toy for my daughter to aid in her occupational therapy for fine motor skill development. I am thrilled with not only the product but also the results. This toy has exceeded my expectations and has become an integral part of my daughter's therapy routine as well as everyday play. She thoroughly enjoys the hands-on nature and has shown remarkable progress in finger strength, dexterity, and coordination. Our home sessions have helped her refine her grasp and enhance her ability to manipulate small objects with precision. She no longer fights me when the “frustration factor” kicks in because she is too excited to continue building and creating with her colorful straws and connectors. The open-ended nature of the toys sparks her creativity and imagination, making the sessions both productive and entertaining. She particularly enjoys modeling - I build something, and then she repeats it. I have gradually increased the difficulty level and provided age-appropriate challenges. Straw construction has benefited my daughter and has become an activity we can enjoy together at home as a family. Additionally, I bought two extra sets because as a family of four our creations were getting more innovative. They arrived at our office and one of my teammates became interested and started building something. A patient (we work at a dental office) jumped in and started playing with them too. It seems that putting something in dental phobics' hands relaxes them by engaging their mind. Win! We have put a big tub in the waiting room, and frankly, I am impressed by the soothing nature. We have been proudly "gifted" flower, cars, puppies made out of straws. Many have asked where we have bought them, and we proudly say Amazon!

Overall it is a good product with a few caveats. 1) There are WAY more short straws than long straws. The photos show kids making big structures they can be inside of and there are barely enough long straws to make a small house/tent frame (not like the photos). Also the straws have limited stiffness, so when we tried to make a little house they could go inside, it sagged a bit and would fall over with light contact. But like I said, it is fun and easy to use for small projects.

I bought this with medium expectations, but when it came--I was blown away! It has it's own decently quality case, each connector piece is thick, and there are many different kinds, including wheels and very unusual pieces that will certainly let the builder build things that were previously unimaginable! I'm just blown away at the quality, both in the individual pieces AND the case it comes in. This will be a fantastic gift that I know will steal the show. And if you really want to take a party over, go to a cash&carry/etc store, and buy some beverage straws in bulk. This set comes with a lot of straws, but with a kit like this, more will always be better. I highly recommend this kit, especially for kids who love building (and things like Legos). I don't find myself giving such wonderful reviews often, but this kit is exactly what a kid needs to build! It's SO worth it. One of the best gifts I've ever bought for a youngin.
