Tube Screamer Overdrive TS-808 TS-9 TS808 TS9 Distortion guitar effect pedal (Standard polished metal)

I’ve never had a ‘real’ tube screamer, and I’ve been playing roughly since they were invented.It’s more midrange-y than a Boss SD-1, but unlike say, a klon-clone the midrange doesn’t increase as drastically as you dial up the gain.Sounds very good with a strat and it’s slightly less noisy than the boss pedal at the same sort of gain levels.The build seems spot on, although it’s got the typical board-mounted power supply socket that simply pokes through a hole in the enclosure. I prefer them to be mounted to the housing but it’s a small gripe, especially given the cost.It’s a good pedal.

Got one of these second hand. Worked ok but had a very loud buzz. Contacted Boo and they said buy one of their Raad power suppies. Did that, buzz remained and then died completely. Recontacted Boo but no reponse. Probably just gonna buy an Ibanez TS to be honest.

Great sound once you work out how to use it properly - seems to work best when it is pushing an amp that's just about to break up . Doesn't give a massive amount of volume boost but the tone with a Strat puts you straight into SRV territory if that's what you want. Appears to be a robustly put together pedal however the chicken head knobs can be knocked a bit too easily - maybe a different style of knob or pots with a bit more friction to their operation would help. One star knocked off as the base will not fit back onto the pedal properly if you fit a Duracell battery. Not much of an issue in my case as I usually use an external power supply. Overall, very happy with the pedal especially for the very reasonable cost.

I got this to use on solos. It really makes my amp sing, but without feeding back too much, even with all dials set to 11.This pedal is also noiseless, even when mains powered. Speaking of which, the manufacturer recommended a specific power supply (they would, right?) but this works fine powered by your usual pedal board power supply, just make sure the connection is tip-negative.The styling on this is beautifully minimal and the construction is rugged as hell: it will clearly stand up to some serious boot-stomping.All round, a great pedal.

Lots of pros, eg works well, good sounds, well made.Only one con - the chicken head knobs overlap the edge of the pedal so to a perfectionist it's not aesthetically right! Easy to change the knobs though4 months later - discovered the battery option doesn't work

This is a nice pedal, it might not have enough bite at very low drive settings for some, but that's a matter of taste. It seems well made and exudes a sense of class - a boutique pedal at a very good price. I've bought from this company before and their service has always been excellent.

Amazing pedal, it has the sound your after at a third of the cost, turned down it opens up the harmonics n fattens the sound beautifully, cranked up n it's scream for me long beach arena, played an original n it's identical apart from treble response on original is smoother transition, but me n mi mate both prefer the Boo it gave us the giddy response, if you get giddy at something then it's saying something, so at this price a hand built bootique TS better in sound at a third of the cost is a bit of no brainer!! Get it

I received this pedal very quickly, 24 hours after placing order and I live in the Scottish Islands, super impressed with that. The pedal itself is brilliant, especially when you take the price into consideration. I have a pretty decent pedal collection ranging in price but this pedal has made it straight onto my board. I think that this pedal is amazing, it can be as subtle or as gritty as you need it to be. Even if I had paid twice the price I would have been delighted with what I bought.
