BT Wi-Fi 300 Extender Kit (Booster), White

I spend a lot of time outside and in my potting shed and losing my wifi connection as soon as I stepped out of my back door was a major frustration. I listen to the radio on my iPhone so need wifi when I'm in my shed. My problem has been resolved with this brilliant bit of kit. I was concerned by some of the reviews and noticed that the reviews were all lumped into one despite there being a choice of BT extenders available in this listing. I decided to go for the slightly more expensive £18.99 300 kit rather than the cheapest option (the £12.99 BT essentials extender). So this review is based on the kit that I purchased. It is superb - however I did have to get my husband to set it up for me and the only successful way was Method 2 in the instructions using option B see photo. We also found that finding a good range varied and ended up plugging it into a socket that made the extender show the too close red light but despite this it works brilliantly with no disruption to wifi in the house. I am really happy with this extender and urge anyone who buys it to be patient when setting it up as it is so worth the effort!

Just installed BT Wifi extender 300, so not sure yet if works as good I expect. I did not manage to install using WPS, I tried it many times, so ended up doing it through my ipad. This method was so much easier and quicker for me, although I had to go through the process a couple of times before I understood instruction and it connected. Probably would have been more easier through laptop or desktop computer.

Worked ok for about a week then it just stopped working. the extended range wasnt that great when it did work but we cant seem to re connect this so we've given up.

I have mixed views on this wifi extender. The original set up was straightforward. Once you pair it, lights show you if you are too close or too far away, so that you can, hopefully, find a well located plug.It is also straightforward to give it a name, and passcode. When it works, it definitely extends the network to an area in which the signal was weak.The downside is the apparent randomness of its performance. Every now and again - two or three times a day, sometimes - the lights come on to show that it is too close or too far away from the router. Of course, neither the plug or the router have moved, although I suppose it is possible that the router signal may have fluctuated. It does not re-connect itself, however. When I turn it on and off, it goes through its start up routine and normally reconnects straight away.This is a nuisance, and makes me doubt its reliability. As I don't know the cause of the problem, it could be some other factor, so to be fair I have given it three stars rather than a lower score- it does perform well when it is connected.You should be aware of its size - the photo shows it in use.

Great product, great price, well made, very easy to set up, bought two of them had them both up and running within 5 minutes of delivery! I have a very good / good signal in all but the furthest reaches of my home now have very good signal everywhere! When you have set them up and are ready to use don't forget to reselect them in the network settings of the device you are using. It will have the same name as your main router preceded by EXT, the password is the same as your original. Also don't be steered into buying one that is more powerful than your router / signal strength, waste of money.

Works really well. We have a very old house and the thickness of walls makes wifi signal sporadic at the opposite end to the router. This has solved it and took a technophobe about 5 minutes to install.

Useless. Put it on an extension lead to check working distances from hub as could not find position for it. 12 paces link to hub too far, 8 paces too close, 10 paces good, so need to rewire house to provide power socket where signal boost needed. Only use is with an ethernet cable link using network extender through mains circuit.Update, 2 days later..... Disconected ethernet but left extender on. Following morning indicator light had changed from red, too far, to green, optimum distance, boosts signal in room but not beyond.

Sadly this did not improve the broadband strength where required.The unit lights showed ‘too far away’ even though it was only at the bottom of the stairs a short distance from the router.
