Basic Math & Pre-Algebra For Dummies Book + Workbook Bundle 1st Edition

This book is great. My mathematically challenged daughter loves it. It is easy to follow and understand.

This book has worked well for my 8th grader. Her math skills are improving. A lot of math how to- some workbook pages. Better than workbooks that fail to show student how to work out math problems. Great book for students preparing to go to high school.

I ordered this set of Math/Pre-Algebra 4Dummies, thinking that they go together, one being the workbook for the other. Not so - they are not a match to each other. Kinda defeats the purpose of the bundle.

At this advanced age of eighty one i decided tolearn basic math so i can learn algebra.All for the fun and the love of learning only.To my own surprise in a month and a halfi have completed both the books. I havestepped into algebra so easily. I am thrilled.My thanks and complement to Mark’s books.Its never too late to learn anything in life.You can learn anything if you set your heart to it.

Not a bad introduction to math.

I bought this for my 5th grade daughter to help her in advanced math class. She loves it. It is easy for her to read and easy for her to understand. I love that it has examples and was bundled with the work book. We have not yet activated the online portion but only because it hasn't been needed. The bottom line is that this has been a great purchase and I recommend it for any parent looking for tools to help their kids get a better understanding of Pre-Algebra and Algebra.

For basic refresher and practice you could probably just get the workbook. For things I don’t remember at all I go back to the full book and study that section. I find the explanations and walk through of the material really helped me understand what I was missing before.

This is helpful for me to relearn math after not having done it for 15 years. But I've noticed a lot of errors in the book when numbers are changed from the problem expression to the solution. See pictures for example. My pictures show them using an expression with the last sequence being a +15. Then you go check your answer in the solutions part all of a sudden that +15 has turned into a -15. Which fine, I calculated the jist of it but because they switched around a +/- sign, my answer was wrong because their stupid error. This isn't the first mistake I've seen in the book. Editors fell short on this one. Otherwise it's been helpful.
