I just started drawing in december. on the left I was using mechanical pencil and watercolor paper because it's what I had on hand and I'd only been drawing for 4 days. on the right I got actual sketch paper and these pencils. and omg! even though these were only drawn 2 days apart, I feel like I was able to get so much darker and much better details with these art pencils.also also-- the moment I touched the 2B to the paper I looked at my spouse and was like "I'm ruined. I can never go back. this feels so good and *buttery* omg. how was I using just mechanical pencil before?!"I don't think I'd get the whole pack again, probably just stick to 2H, 4H, 2B, 4B and getting replacements of those. But it was really nice to get a multipack and see what I like.

Pencils are labeled with what type lead it has, that's great. I know nothing about pencils. Newbie here, taking art classes through Udemy. I like the texture when holding the pencil, feels good in the hand.The packaging is a paper-thin plastic tray inside a paper-thin cardboard box. These aren't suitable for leaving the pencils in, if you set something on top of it the lead could be snapped or easily. That's a quibble. For the price I don't expect a sturdy case.I used each pencil and made a swatch, that's the included picture, I tried to use the same pressure with each one. I can't tell much if any difference between the leads. Maybe that's normal and it's supposed to be super subtle? Maybe I'll learn how to spot those subtle differences along the way. Some were physically thicker leads than others, but the way they laid down on the paper, they all looked the same. I also smeared a finger across each one and it smeared the same across the page.Good value for the price, I'd recommend having something to store the pencils in other than the box it comes with. Doesn't include a pencil sharpener so that's next on my list to get.
