Don't buy
Don't purchase. First cable was replaced and seller sent another faulty cable. Had to return.

Uses Prolific chip, not FTDI FT232R as described
The USB identifiers for this cable are Vendor ID 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.) and Product ID 0x2303. This is a Prolific PL-2303 chip, not the FTDI FT232R chip mentioned in the product description. Unfortunately the default OS drivers on both macOS and Linux don't work for this chip, so the data that comes out is total garbage when using it as an RJ45 console cable. You may be able to rebuild a kernel driver on Linux, but on macOS you're out of luck. Avoid this product.
