Exactly As Described
I took delivery of both the 0.5mm and 0.35mm versions of this pencil this morning, and will probably be purchasing the 0.7mm version, alongside my next Amazon order. I do have to say that both of the one star ratings for this product to date, are misleading and unfairly damning of the product. Both pencils were EXACTLY as shown in the vendors illustration, so I have no quibbles on that score. With regards to the one that you received was Ok but you worry about the other eleven? Did you think you were ordering a box of twelve pencils for that price? These pencils would be an asset for both draughtsmen and artists alike, who require the accuracy of line width that you expect from these types of pencils. As a draughtsman who still periodically produces pencil line drawings, I found these pencils to be well designed and comfortable to hold, and quite inexpensive.

Very useful, very fine, very breakable
This 0.35 pencil has proved very useful. I use it for initial sketching of the face, for example. Its weakness is also its strength - It breaks very easily. This forces me to work very freely. As soon as I apply any pressure the lead breaks. This is very helpful but be sure to get plenty of spare leads! I also like the colour-coding on the black barrel, although I haven't looked up what the other colours represent. It's worth having in your 'toolkit'.

Excellent value for money
Not sure if it's my clumsiness or the pencil itself but lead breaks very easily hence a cautious 4 stars. Otherwise excellent value for money

Delighted
I bought these for my artistic son and it was exactly what he wanted. This is an excellent product and I would buy it again

Constantly jams.
Although the body is comfortable, I've yet to actually get the thing to feed through any lead so that I can actually write or draw anything. This is literally the worst mechanical pencil I have ever tried to use.

Low pressure.
Comfortable. Pressure is a little to light. Good all rounder.

Don't buy the Rotring 0.35
Rotring Tikky Colour-Coded Mechanical Pencil 0.35mm: I consigned the 5th purchase of this model to the back of my drawer a few months ago and will never waste money on another. The 0.5 & 0.7 models work fine and have lasted for ages. This size inevitably jams and becomes unusable. I perservered but, enough! As replacements I recommend either the Uni Kuru Toga 0.3, very good, easy to clear if (unusually) it jams. Also features a rotating mechanism to self-sharpen. Lovely fine lines Or, the ever-faithful standby, the Pentel 0.3 P203 from the deservedly renowned Pentel P200 series. Neither of these will inevitably become unusable unlike the Rotring 0.35. Good luck!
