Hot Shot ant baits are my go-to for getting rid of ant invasions. The baits are so simple to use. Just break the bait house off from the set of 2 and place it or them in the line of the ants or where you believe they might be coming in to your house. I like to place them where children and pets can’t get to them because they smell like peanut butter which is what attracts the ants, but I don’t want them to be a temptation. The housing for the bait allows you to handling them without touching the bait itself which makes them much safer than using liquids. I feel safe placing them on the edges of counter tops if there are no children in the house. They can be placed further in to keep them out of reach if needed. Ants are drawn to the peanut butter and take it back to the nest and it kills the colony. If I have a heavy infestation it can take a couple of days to be fully effective but if I catch them right away I can stop an infestation from starting. During a very hot, dry period my sister had a huge infestation that was coming into her home looking for water and then food. This even though her husband was spraying ant and spider spray all around the exterior of their home. Ants are persistent when they need water. Ants were not only all over their kitchen island they were also coming up drain pipes under their home and swarming the bathroom sinks and tubs and into their laundry room. We placed bait traps behind trash cans, between the washing machine and the wall and just under the open bag of dog food. In one day the ants in the bathrooms and laundry room were gone. In the kitchen simply sprayed a bleach and water combo on the counters once a day and wiped them dry so the ant tracks hauling away the poison were eliminated in seconds with no residual. Please keep in mind that Lysol products have to sit on counter tops etc for 15 minutes to kill germs and poison ant tracks where a mix of 1/4 cup bleach to 6 cups of water kill everything on contact and leave no residue. That’s my public service bit. lol Bottom Line: This is a fabulous product and you should try it. If you’re infested with ants give the traps a couple of days to work but if the ants are just starting to appear, one day should do the trick. Leave the baits in place to catch the stragglers.

When I noticed we had ants along our kitchen peninsula, I was so disgusted - I am fine with ants outside but the moment I see any inside I just feel so gross. I am newish to living on my own as well so I had not thought to worru about ants until this moment. I ordered this stuff, it got here SO quickly (like a day or 2?) and I instantly set down 2 along the wall. After a few hours, as gross as it was to see that many ants in my home, it was working. They took a bit to figure out how to get inside the containers, but once they do it's madness. I went to bed as dozens of ants worked to collect this "food". When I woke up the next morning, I went to go check to see how it was doing - NOTHING. Not a SINGLE ant!!!! Both traps were completely empty and no ants in sight. I put down another trap for a couple days incase they came but, but it was't necessary and I ended up storing it back in package to save for later. I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but if you have ants, you need to get this stuff. I also have 2 cats, but lucky for me they couldn't care less about getting into "food", so this is silly but I make a makeshift barrier and used our counter chairs to support it around the path so they couldn't get to it.

Made absolutely no difference in the amount of ants or spread of ants to farther areas of my kitchen. Ants were initially only on the counters after several days' worth of spring rain. Now they are on the floor near our pet bowls in two separate location as well, even with these disks right next to the bowls and on the counter. I have NEVER seen any of the ants enter the disk. We currently have smaller sized ants that seem to have a tougher exoskeleton. They remind me of fleas in the fact that they are hard to kill. You can't just thump them and then they're dead. You kind of have to twist while squashing them. These baits are useless.

I am still seeing ants! And it’s been well below freezing for more than a week! I don’t think they work as advertised

It works! I was looking for an effective ant bait. After comparing different brands, reviews, and prices, I decided to try Hot Shot MaxAttrax. I used these baits immediately after receiving them, which was a very simple process. A ton of ants started to attack them only within the first couple hours. Regarding the reviews that say the baits don't work, I think those customers received either expired or spoiled baits. So, I highly recommend this product.

Seems to work at making ants disappear. Not sure how we get ants in the house, probably some fly in, probably some sneak in, some probably come in on my boots but every so often they show up. We spread some of these bait stations in the area and not long after, we no longer see any ants.
