This is a very pleasant-looking, unusual and original decanter that's well worth buying if you need a quirky present for someone who likes fortified wines.Ok, so as you can see from a lot of other reviews, the glass is delicate (although I wouldn't necessarily say "thin"). But that's part of the charm of this decanter. If it were any chunkier, it wouldn't look as nice. As long as you treat it with respect, it'll be fine. One thing I'd say, though, is that the packaging is very tight. You might want to cut away the polystyrene rather than try to pull the sippers out - although, of course, that makes it more difficult to use the original packaging if you need to return it for any reason.

Purchase this for my port very nice very fine glass so would break easily if not handled correctly

Looks very neat, will be a nice little present for a port fan at Christmas. Other descriptions point out the apparent fragility, I would have to agree, but this is glass and should be handled with care.

Don't believe everything you read... Dispute reviews saying they don't stand up or look fragile, they do stand as they have little feet. Very well made, they are thing as they appear to be hand blown but no more fragile than any other glass. Was a Christmas present and they were very pleased. Used them straight away.Only wondering how they can be washed and don't try to hold the sipper like a cup and drink from anywhere but the straw as it will tipple through the straw.

This is a beautiful gift for the port lover in your life. The sippers are made from delicate glass and this is a lovely conversation piece for the centre of your table. Warning, you'll love using these so much that before you realise it you will have gone through half a bottle of port! I bought this as a gift for someone and they were delighted. I opted for fast track delivery and it came in record time.

Excellent product. Came really quickly and is so unusual, my husband loved it. It seems really delicate though, so you would have to be very careful, and wash them straight after using as the liquid goes up in the spout. He is only going to use it for special occasions anyway and it is a lovely decorative piece.

I have bought these often as amazing gifts and had to send back a few due to being broken on arrival. The neck of the decanters is where it arrives broken. Packaging doesn’t say fragile or breakable. Still a fabulous gift and talking piece at dinner parties.

Great product. Arrives very, very tightly packed in foam so be careful getting it out. Also due to the nature of its shape, the sippers are quite a pain to wash, so rinsing after using saves later hassle.Very elegant design, and despite thin glass, is actually surprisingly durable.This was a perfect Father's day present, i would highly recommend.
