I recommend this book to any teachers or parents who want to teach their children about diversity. Deafness is still not well understood, and this is a good way to raise awareness with children that Deaf people are really no different than those who can hear. There is sign language taught throughout the book which makes it even more engaging to read. The story is sweet and teaches children that they can work hard to accomplish their dreams regardless of disabilities.

Great book to read to kids attending a young peoples concert or learning about the percussion family. In addition, students can learn more about how deaf children enjoy music, learn some sign language and a little about the science of sound and vibration. This is a great find!

I use this book in an undergraduate course I teach on educating students with disabilities. The book demystifies some thinking on people with hearing impairments and their enjoyment of music. It assists in bridging the gap between Deaf/Hearing culture. This is a fun book to be shared with young and old.
