Molymod MMS-002 Advanced Level Chemistry Set

This kit is a really helpful and practical way for anyone to get to grips with molecules. You can create a model of a molecule by putting together the atoms, which are designated by the different coloured balls, using the sticks which represent the bonds. This is simpler to do than to describe! By carrying out this playful activity, you can be learning in a creative and pro-active way which is also good fun! It is suitable for all students who are learning about atoms and molecules from GCSE to degree level. For example, you can put two hydrogen and one oxygen atoms together to form a molecule of water. Or you can create a more complex molecule such as ethyl alcohol, then attach further atoms or molecules to demonstrate a chemical reaction. This kit was purchased for an undergraduate who requested it to help with their studies and it was well received

An excellent basic kit to help with visualising structures of simple molecules. This is not the first Molymod kit I've had, and it's great to see the quality hasn't gone down over the years. It gives you faith that you can build on these kits with time and further education. My /only/ critique of this set would be the box is slightly too small, meaning you sometimes need to jostle the parts to fit the lid on. But that's a very minor problem with the set.

I love Molymod as much as I love Chemistry - a lot! My set literally arrived today and I've used it so much as a way to make my revision more interesting. It's an excellent visual aid for molecules and is incredibly well made to withstand the test of time. It arrived really quickly too, which is always a good thing. The only thing I will say is that some of the bonds are very stiff. Overall though, it's a sterling educational tool.

Very good durable professional just like in college pieces! let down is the lack in beads for more element types and even their isotopes. aswell as only a few of each element is provided i find this particularly difficult then to represent real molecules i know of let alone make big chains of more complex molecules/polmers etc. They are beads at the end of the day just a box of plastic how expensive could production have possibly been! therefore i feel it is far too expensive for what you get!!! it takes advantage of our specialist need. I am sure if they gave more in them and far cheaper!! they could be used to their full potential encouraging use from even younger students! who could then afford them. they should be a standard in the home like an abacus!!

Brought a set for each of my nieces, one is doing her AS Levels, the other her A Levels, and at least one is intending on continuing on the science route at uni. There were squeals as these were unwrapped. Both girls very happy with the product, and convinced they be useful over the next several years. They are happy with the individual sets, and said they can combine them together to make more complex strands.

I bought this to help me with my first year of Chemistry at university, and I can say that it helped me get through the first year with excellent marks. It's very good just for showing bond angles and projections (useful for organic chemistry). Add to this the fact that model sets are allowed in all university science exams means that this little kit is well worth the investment! As usual, wonderful delivery, never disappoints!

The box was open and all the bags with small parts were open as well. This isn't new.

Ich verwende das Set im Chemieunterricht und bin von der Qualität und Verarbeitung der Bauelemente sehr angetan. Die Vielfalt von Farben und Valenzen der Atome sind sehr nützlich. Für Mehrfachbindungen existieren gleich mehrere sinnvolle Konzepte als flexible Bindungen bzw. Atome mit verschiedenen Geometrien entsprechend der Hybridisierungsmodelle sp2, sp3. Für die multiplen Valenzen von S, P, O, N existieren verschiedene Typen von Atomen. So kann man viele verschiedene Oxidations- und Protonierungszustände darstellen. Für die Chemie kenne ich kein besseres Modellsystem.
