I recently decided it was time to upgrade from my old 2 head Philishave. This new shaver looks really nice and feels good when using it on my face (glides effortlessly)...however I am finding it gives me a burning sensation once I've finished shaving which my old philishave never used to do. Perhaps my skin just needs to get used to it because already after my 5th shave the burning sensation has reduced. It gives a very good shave, but only very slightly better than my philishave so I don't think it was worth upgrading in my case. It's cheap though so I can't complain! If you are looking for a first time shaver then this is the one for you - it's brilliant, but if you already have a philishave shaver that still works and you only want a new one because you think it will give you a much better shave then I recommend waiting until your shaver actually does break! =========REVIEW UPDATE BELOW========== It's been a few weeks since I bought it and I can report that the burning sensation has stopped. I guess my skin has adapted to it. =========REVIEW UPDATE TWO============ When I said originally that it only gave a slightly better shave than my old philishave it was because this powertouch still left a few very small hairs every time under my chin. I've since learnt that if you very slowly move the shaver over that area it will actually get those hairs. Now I can say this is the best shave I've ever had, my skin is extremely smooth now. Upped my review to 5 stars. :)

The shaver is excellent for a budget price. The trimmer could be sturdier but most people would not drop it on floor during use so can’t really complain as it worked well until I dropped it. The shaver still works well after regular heavy use.

A stark contrast to the last time I used an electric shaver. Have went from only able to shave once every couple of days with a manual shaver to shaving 2 times a day with no foam / gel / water etc and yet have zero irritation. Brilliant! I am actually shocked at how good this is, especially considering it is the low end of this series. The 2 above it (plus and pro) have a pop up trimmer bit for side burns and moustaches (for me not needed) and the high end one has water jet cleaning and charging system. The plus i'm not too sure on wither it comes with a dock for charging though. This one doesn't, only a cable. The charging cable is reasonable but there is no 2 prong to 3 prong adapter if you don't have a bathroom socket. Do not see why it isn't included, considering they only cost 1 to 2 quid. Hardly worth down rating for though. Charging is quick and doesn't bother me having to charge else where once every week or 2. There is ZERO need to buy the pro for the cleaning system, it is crazy easy and quick to clean this shaver by quickly putting it under some running water. Last but not least, there is no mess. The last electric shaver I tried years ago was a foil shaver and it 'spewed' hairs everywhere. This catches them all behind the grill. Could actually be kept/charged and used outside the bathroom with no mess. I still prefer mines in the Bathroom though.

Shavers are a bit like cars. Cars all do a job to a greater or lesser extent of getting you from A to B on four wheels. This shaver is a classic example of a cheap shaver doing an excellent job. It's not much to look at and it does without the "refinements" you will find in many more expensive shavers. You cannot imagine David Beckham buying this shaver! However it gives the smoothest shave I have ever had with a battery or powered shaver. It did not take long to charge despite the forecasts from reports I had read on the Amazon reviews. In India recently my old shaver died and I was obliged to get a wet shave from an Indian barber. You can't teach those barbers anything about shaving and they use a brand new razor every time and yet this Philips shaver did the job more quickly and every bit as well. I can only give it the highest recommendation on grounds of price and quality, but if you want something that suits a more "highly geared" image and looks good and has more bells and whistles, forget it and buy a Ferrari style shaver.

I bought this because I really rate the Philips shaving products. My dad has the HQ6970 model and I have used it on occasion and found it gives a lovely close shave with no irritation to the skin. I can not understand anyone who would be critical of this shaver at the cost. It represents excellent value for money. Some reviewers have said it is ugly ? it is a shaver not an ornament - the ergonomic design makes it very comfortable to use and it is extremely quiet. Cleaning could not be more simple - just press a button, the head flips up and the dead hair is easy to dispose of with the aid of a brush which is supplied. The absence of a flip up sideburn trimmer is no real problem for me as I have my own hair and beard trimmer which does this job quite easily. Anyone wanting a great introduction to the excellent range of Philips shavers need look no further than this model. I highly recommend it.

After years of shaving with foam and a razor, I decided to give this a go because I thought it would be much more convenient and less expensive. It took a short time for my skin to get used to the shaver, and for me to get the right technique, but once it those things happened I could get a good shave no problem – not quite as close as with a razor and foam, but certainly good enough. As I say in the headline, it's totally sold me on dry shaving with an electric shaver, but the lack of a pop-up trimmer is a real shame; I had to keep a normal razor for doing my sideburns which sort of defeats the purpose of a shaver like this. So if you can I'd stretch for the PowerTouch 8 or even the PowerTouch 9 (the latter is what I ended up replacing this with). Well worth buying the cleaning spray as well – without it it tends to stink after a while!

Rasiert besser als mein alter für €~260, mit dem ich mir anfangs oft die Lippen angeschabt habe. Hält etwa 40 Rasuren. Man muss gut lesen, um zu wissen, dass er keinen Haarschneider hat.

El producto es si esta bien, pero el problema es que el enchufe tiene las clavijas mas juntas de lo normal y no entra en los enchufes de casa. A ver como lo soluciona Amazon

Der Rasierer ist sehr sehr gut er funktioniert einwandfrei, ich würde mir den immer wieder holen, man macht kein Fehler wenn man sich den holt

Está acorde al precio que vale, no quería gastar mucho y por eso la he comprado, no tiene corta patillas.
