My cats liked it once they got the hang of it
i got this on a lightning deal, one of my cats just wants to eat all the time so i got this to slow him down, the holes are quite big, you can twist to top though to make the holes smaller, also you can select to have one two or all thee holes open at once. initially the cats just looked at it, so i played with them with the hole open wide so treats fell out easily, once they realized the treat were inside and could smell them through the little waft port at the bottom, they began to paw at it and push it around knocking the treats(dry cat food) out, once they were clued up i made only only one hole open so that the treats didn't come out so easily, all of my 4 cats had a go and didn't even manage to empty it after 20 minutes., In my opinion a great boredom breaker and sure to help slow down greedy cats. Maybe rub the ball around in some cat treats/dry food before giving to them so it doesn't smell so much of funny plastic

Very good product.
Pros:- good size, difficult to lose it- can be opened/unscrewed into two halves which makes cleaning very easy and refills are easy too- the bottom of the “egg” has a rubberized opening which allows cats to get tongues inside, so you can use wet food/tuna in it as well as dry kibbles, and they can lick it out- top openings for can be adjusted to suit a range of treat/kibble sizes- can set the openings to be closed, 1 open, 2 open or all 3 openCons:- can be tricky to get the treads lined up properly to screw it closed. There’s a knack to it. Has to be exactly right or else it won’t screw together, or can screw together crookedly.- bottom of egg is not weighted, so it just rolls on it’s side and the kibble comes out easily, so the cat doesn’t have to work as hard for It as they do with round treat balls. Would be good if it was weighted in the bottom so that it wobbles around but stands itself up again, like a jumping bean!Overall great product, would recommend.

Transformative!
Update: 6 months later and we took little Guinneapie to the vets for her check up: she's lost about a kilo! This is testament to the egg-cerziser's success! Thank you!Original review:This has transformed my little fat black cat's life and mine too! No more constant jumping onto the mantlepiece and knocking every breakable thing in her little fat furry paws' reach. The Egg-Cersizer not only keeps her entertained but it also slows down her eating - though she is now (after several weeks) getting a bit too adept - I'm considering going onto the smallest setting but worried she won't get anything out and that that nice vase of flowers on the mantelpiece will get it in the neck as a result...

OK, but could be better.
I own three similar items. Sadly this one has been relegated back to the cupboard with another oval shaped one. We originally had a similar shaped feeder, which our 2 cats loved, but lost the top. Unfortunately I couldn't find one the same as the original and so purchased this. My main issue is filling it up. There's a bit at the bottom to push the crunchies through or - I think (but this bit has seized up) - you can remove the top to put them in the bottom bit - which means that you can't fill the whole thing and it can empty very quickly. I eventually purchased a spherical feeder which does much the same, but it's easier to fill (to the top as well!) the holes are more adjustable and to avoid the mess (or losing it behind a piece of furniture) I place it in a wide shallow box (courtesy of a local supermarket) I guess that if you like this oval one you could do the same.

Does what it says.
Keeps my cat amused and quiet, she loves working for the treats.

Great cat feeder
Our former street cat tends to scoff his food and barf it up. Putting his kibble in this has prevented that, and he enjoys playing with the feeder too. It's easy to top up just by unscrewing the base (the little hole for this isn't really much use) as long as you don't overfill it - if you need to put more kibble in than the base allows then you're overfeeding your cat.Plastic is a bit brittle and can crack if you overtighten the base, that's my only complaint.

Don't waste your money!
I expected the egg to wobble on a weighted base, but when my cat hit it gently, it just fell over - every single time, & stayed over on its side on the floor! The packaging said "more info & tips inside"...inside what? The egg came in a moldedacetate package attached to a piece of card! And there was nothing inside the egg.I tried various amounts of dried food, & various openings for making it easier or more difficult for my cat to get the food out, but basically, as soon as it fell over, if it fell towards an open "window", the food just fell out!My cat has been using a Catit feeding ball for her dried food for 5 weeks & loves that, but I wanted something else to give her variety, so I got the egg. What a waste of my money! Don't waste yours!

cats quickly bored by it.
Advised by my vet to buy this type of feeding ball by my vet to try to bring weight down by encouraging cats to interact with product in order to release food. Playful cat interested but too lazy to remain interested for long. Less playful cat not remotely interested. As the cat plays, food falls out in trail on floor. Cats look disgusted at thought of sniffing up the scent trail to find pellets of food. Floor is a mess. Food gets kicked around. On the plus side you can fully adjust holes to release easily/lots at time. Overall I can only recommend as treat dispenser-my less than playful lazy cat will never tire of empting this if i fill with whiskers treats. So overall I wouldn't recommend as it has been a bit pointless for what I bought it for. Catit senses food maze a much better idea.
